I was reading an article in North American Whitetail magazine that was detailing this new cheap meat that is starting to really gain popularity in the United States. From what the article says we all need to look into Deer testicles as a alternative cheap food. They are a good cheap food source according to the article. I think they are right on this one because its always been my experience that they are always under a buck.

The best is when you are first looking at a pic of a doe or something then in the background you see a buck and instead of zooming in right away I always for some reason put the screen closer to my face as if that will help me see it better.LOL! then I zoom.

I have heard several quail on our place it's pretty exciting to hear that. We had a surplus of fawns running around this year too. I used to maybe see 4/yr I bet I saw 12 different fawns on our place this year and I didn't even hit the center of our property.
I think this is going to be a good year for hunting and just for animal sightings over all!

It is amazing how that can happen. Scrolling through picture after picture of doe or small buck then all of a sudden ANTLERS! Love that.

I have 4 Moultrie M-880's and I love them. I have also purchased some cheaper wild game cameras to put up in places where they may have a chance of getting stolen (ground I just have permission to hunt but don't own)

On our property in Indiana we have a pretty good age range. But where I hunt in S. IL the does all seem to be fairly young.

I follow them on Twitter and she talks about how Her and Lee have been running every day getting in shape for Elk season. She already looked good but if she tones up from all this running they will just need to change the name of the show to Tiffany time and just video her!

I just saw this on my twitter so I figured I would share it. The Crush has put up a live feed to one of their feeders so you can watch what comes in. Its a pretty good idea I think. The Crush Deer-cam

I was just curious to see how many of you actually run a soil test before you plant a food plot. Also If you do Soil test do you do every single plot or just the larger ones?
On my home property in Central IL we have great soil and I have had good success growing everything without a soil test. But on our property in Ohio county the soil has alot more clay. I am getting ready to plant a few small fall plots (1/4 acre) in the next couple weeks and I was going to skip the soil test. Mistake for my location?

I just mowed my imperial clover this past weekend. It seems to be getting lots of action. Is this your first year planting turnips? I have 3 pastures that range in size from 1/2 acre to 1 acre. Next year when I can get some equipment to work the ground I was going to try turnips. I was just curious if you have ever had any luck with them before.

We had one in our front yard this past weekend just hanging out. But Boonechaser you are lucky that you saw it. I sadly have hit a fawn before while mowing and it about makes you sick. Still turns my stomach thinking about it.

I put mine out 2 weeks ago. I bought a few new Moultrie M880's and so far I like what I have seen. I put them over a few scattered piles of record rack and corn. I will have to try one of those Droppin' Blocks. I also have an old wild game camera over a mineral site I created.

I wish Indiana had such cheap turkey prices for non-residents.

Some friends were down turkey hunting this past weekend at our place (Ohio County) and they said they spooked a doe while walking to there set and as they looked behind her she had twins trying to follow her. they were still wet like they weren't more then a few hours old.

Am I reading it right, are the nonresident license fees going down as well? a non-resident deer hunting license is only $120 instead of $150.
also On page 4 it strikes out the line about also purchasing a hunting license to hunt turkey for a non-resident.

For those of you who use a ground blind which one do you use? I was thinking about picking one up for next deer season and could use some help deciding. I have been looking at the Rhino xp-1 but would like to hear what you all think.
(I know this should probably be in the gear section but it's not a very active part of the site.)
