Thats great to hear we finally got rain! I planted a couple fall food plots a couple weeks ago and was getting really worried. This rain should help out. I bet willow creek which runs right along the road to our place is a raging river right now instead of a lazy creek.

We have 224 acres in South East Indiana. As of now it is just myself and 2 other guys who mainly hunt the property. I bow hunt and gun hunt with bow hunting being my preferred method. As far as a spot picked out no I do not have a spot picked out. As of now we have about 6 tree stands and 1 ground blind set up. I will be back down at our property in 2 weeks to run a final check on our cameras to see where I may want to hunt on the opening weekend.
Good luck to you. I hope you are able to hunt more this year and have some luck in the field

Wow, they look good to me. ...actually gets me a little excited. I might have to check my trailcams soon. I am excited to see what you guys get to harvest this year. I'll be really happy for you. I'll make it out, but I just have no expectation for myself. It would be nice to see that 8 have a bigger body ...I guess. :-) I think he'd look remarkably beautiful hanging over my mantle with his head tilted a little as if looking at me on my computer. Yes! I can see now. Well the ten point is what I am really after but to be honest I have never shot anything as big as that 8 point either so there is a good chance if I get a shot I will probably take it. I would like to see him get another year but when it comes down to it he would be my biggest buck ever so thats why he makes the hit list. This is only my 3rd year hunting on this new property. We have only planted a couple small "kill plots" This spring we have already made plans to clear some area and start planting larger food plots so hopefully we will have more oportunity at larger bucks like that 10 point and I can pass the younger deer

Timex did you see the pictures? I wonder why other people are having issues.
And yes they are going to be tough. I try to stay positive but bucks like that are big for a reason.

Our new property we purchased last year had been logged in the last 10 years. The down side of it is we don't have a lot of mature trees for tree stands. Most of the property is still a thick mess and the deer love it! We have so many deer that use our place as a bedding area. Once we get some food sources established they really won't have a reason to leave.

I run 5-6 cameras all together. I think the intersection is a good starting point,You don't want to go near the bedding area any more than you have to. Try to point them North or South to reduce the amount of glare and white out pictures from sunrise and/or sunset.
I place my cameras chest high and try to leave them alone for at least 2 weeks at a time. You don't want to be going in and out of the same spot over and over this close to season. If you do have a good buck in the area odds are you will educate him real fast if you go in all the time to check you camera.
Another tip is to get a second memory card so you can just swap them out instead of either carrying your laptop or tablet to the woods. or having to take the camera down and back to the house to down load pics.
Good Luck!

I shoot Rage and have had great results. The only issue I have had with the Rage is if its not a pass through I have had 2 deer have massive initial blood trails for the first 10-20 yards but then most of the blood actually pools inside the chest cavity and the blood trail isn't as good.
I have also shot Muzzy three blade and and I enjoyed them as well. It really just comes down to what you think you might like. if you know people with mechanical and fixed broad heads ask to borrow one and shoot it with your setup to see what you prefer.

I think PSE has some of the best affordable bows on the market. My brother shoots the PSE Bow Madness and absolutely loves it.
I enjoy shooting PSE but when my Ross Carnivore broke this summer I was able to spoil myself and I purchased a new bow for the first time ever. All of my bows have been used so this was a big deal for me. When I went to the bow shop I shot the new PSE and Mathews I even shot and Elite which I almost bought but when they put that BowTech in my hand it was love at first release! I purchased the BowTech Experience and for the last month I have been in archery heaven!
Everybody is different and when you find a good bow that fits you it does so much for your confidence in the field. Good luck!

In the ideal situation you would want more buck than does on your farm. It would cause more compition between the bucks and more movement.
On our farm we seem to be a Doe haven! we have some little bucks and a couple big guys running around but we have Does all over the place.

What happened to you is just a good example of what scouting and moving our cameras around can do. Where I hunt in IL the same thing has happened to me last year. In the first few spots I scouted I only had some does and small spikes. Then I moved my camera to a spot I never really thought much about but decided to give it a try because I was getting desperate. And what do ya know it was a buck highway!
Good luck

Don't worry. Around here in IL the deer always leave the timber and live in the corn when ever they can. Especially if there is a water source they can access nearby. Then once the corn starts coming down and the acorns fall they head back to the timber.
But it couldn't hurt to have a back up plan. If you start hunting this location and you just don't feel good about your hunt sometimes its nice to be able to switch it up a little bit and move to a different spot. If you are lucky enough to have more than one piece of land go ahead and make the switch. But I wouldn't give up on your current spot just yet.
