Got my work done today. Neighbors couldnt believe my pace and completion of the job in one day. I got 2 trailer loads of solid, green wood. This stuff is heavy as can be. I got many comments and compliments. Good quality saws, sharp chains, a tractor with grapple, experience, and a plan of action is paramount.

I used the smoke setting on ribs today. Once they got to the 160deg temp of the setting, I jacked them up to 225deg, and pulled them at 207deg. Way more smoke infused than normal, and a richer color. Sauced them up and really came out good. Fabulous t-bone.

Referring to myself now. Lol. Big Luke has officially over taken ole Dad, on the first day of school, 7th grade, 2023. He is already bigger than I was when I graduated high school. His birthday is this month, when he will be 13yo. So he still has a lot of potential to grow. He is playing football this season, and his first game is on his birthday! I am taking off work to see him in action! Whos gonna get the hand-me down cloths now? Funny. I was giving away some old hinting clothes before. Them he had a major growth spurt, so we said maybe he will grow into stuff. So now we are hanging on to most things a little longer. Lol

What volt battery system do they run? How much is a replacement, and how long is the battery lifespan?
I saw a 20V Dewalt pole saw today for $177. I use Dewalt for work and home, so their 20V system would make the most sense for me. I have batteries up to 6 amp/hr.

Aa much as I love cordless power tools, I cant see it working in the auto industry for awhile. It will get there eventually, but at a much greater cost than what they want you to hear.

Glad for no damage.
Must be something in the air. My mom called and said to come over. The neighbors huge cherry tree broke off and smashed a tulip tree on her side. I coordinated with the neighbor, and they are gonna clean up everything but the main trunk. I will take over from there and reap the rewards.

My in-laws are up there next to Hudson Lake. Some good people up there and then my inlaws! Good luck Luke. He looks like a a stud right tackle. Definitely a “Both Ways” player…… Better get his birth certificate ready people will swear he(Luke)belongs in High School! He has been asked several times by CO's for his fishing license. Never an issue yet. I'm mostly surprised they never question at Golden Coral, since 12yo is a cut off window. Kid can EAT! Lol. I do carry his hunting license to have something on hand. No pic ID tho. School ID doesn't even have a pic.

Yes to NP. The middle and high school are one mile to our backs in the pic. Good looking boy there! Injuries are not what we are wanting to see! We were hoping for basketball, because he loves it, and is very good. But, he came up with football out of the blue. We certainly weren't going to stop him from trying. He might be good at that too! Lol. My in-laws are up there next to Hudson Lake. Some good people up there and then my inlaws! Good luck Luke. He looks like a a stud right tackle. You must know the coach. You called his position, for right now at least!

Enjoy. My son is taller than me but I still have the crown for weight! Lol Hope he enjoys football. Are you in the New Prarie system? They had a good team last year. My hs team had a great 8 to 10 yr run back in the 80s-90s. Think in my 4 yrs we lost a total of 6 or so. 4 being in the tournament each year! I enjoyed hs ball and have enjoyed watching my son play and develop into the sport. Couple injuries have hampered his hs playing time but on track again for his Jr yr. Yes to NP. Don’t believe I ever worn house slippers or shorts to school and never went till after Labor Day….Things have definitely changed. Yeah, you'd be a little shocked with all things kids and modern times then. Completely different world now.

Now all you gotta do is load up all that wood and bring it over. I'll dispose of it properly. 😇

Ok thanks Dave. I always wondered if holding at a lower temp for an extended time would dry out the meat? I know esshup does it, but it's more out of convenience since he always has a busy schedule and hard for him to dedicate any substantial amount of time. The brats I do at the smoke setting and while the outside skin is dry, and the brats look wrinkly like a raisin, the skin "pops" when you bite into them or cut them and they are moist in the middle, not dry. I honestly don't know how long it takes to get them to an internal 160°F, they are always there when I get home. The Pork Loin I do I give it a thick coat of mayo and it stays moist inside. I've tried putting rub/mayo then more rub and tried putting just mayo and rub on the outside of the mayo. I like the rub next to the meat - gives it more flavor. I haven't grown a set large enough to try ribs that way. LOL I DO have a few briskets in the freezer, 10ish pounds each. I will try one one of these days. Next Pork Loin I do I will brine it first for 24+ hours. I've tried brining most things a time or two. I will say chicken has the best outcome, to us. BUT, our family has agreed it's still awesome without it, so just becomes another unneeded step. Same with a pork butt. Now I brine nothing, including fish, and never have a complaint. I'm sure everything has its purpose, but not in our regimen anymore. I like the "easy peasy" way of doing things. I dont use mayo or mustard on anything either anymore. Heck, I dont even wash or pat dry the juice or blood off of anything. Wife is not too sure about that. Lol. So, I unwrap, season up, then let the big cuts set out to warm up some, then smoke. Working for us.

Just threw this 12lb brisket on the pellet grill on the smoke setting. Having friends over for dinner tomorrow so hoping it turns out well. First time for me using the smoke setting for overnight cooking. Looking forward to hear if results are any different. Smoke setting is only 160deg. Do you still intend to take it up to normal temp mark (205deg for me), or think it's going to "cure" the meat cooking it lower and slower than normal? What is the planned temp setting to get it to temp if that's the case? Just throwing some thoughts out there I've wondered about.

I got a killer Secret trick to share... I accept all kinds of gratituity, ok cash is King. Lol.
Just for the heck if it, I put bacon on the top rack in the pellet grille, and a big casserole dish underneath to catch the grease. Of course it takes several rounds to make a decent amount. It must be picking up the smoke and flavor from the grill, but MAN O MAN is it ever the BEST grease to use for frying. Its 3 times as good as regular grease from the pan, even tho it seems hard to believe!
Thank me later! 😋

We have a kid from another shop training us with the new company take over. He's really sharp, very patient, and doing a great job. I treated him with jerky, salami, and a jar of canned venison last week. He will be at our shop a couple more days. So, I'm making some smoked cream cheese, hot wings, smoked bacon, and fried cabbage with smoked bacon for this weeks treat. I bet he wont want to leave, or at least he will be back for further training or help. Lol

I feel for the three young ladies that actually represented the USA and participated in the National Anthem. I have zero sympathy for the rest of the team. If a team is going to represent the USA they should do it 100% . To add... my thinking is... IF a team IS a USA team, they WILL stand, participate, and honor the flag, or they are deep sixed off the team. Now THAT would be something to be proud of!
