A few nights ago I was woke up by a loud thump. First thought was what our new cat has knocked over something. I got up and looked all over the house..he had been a good cat..this time. Cutting the grass (front yard) and weeds (back yard) today I came around the corner of the house and was greeted by this small tree laying in the side yard…right outside my bedroom. No doubt it was the “thump”! Missed the house by inches.  I’ll get that first thing in the morning. |

Glad for no damage.
Must be something in the air. My mom called and said to come over. The neighbors huge cherry tree broke off and smashed a tulip tree on her side. I coordinated with the neighbor, and they are gonna clean up everything but the main trunk. I will take over from there and reap the rewards.

If cherry splits as easy as it chips when inletting something into it you should be able to get it done with a hatchet. Cherry is a beautiful wood but unforgiving. |

Got my work done today. Neighbors couldnt believe my pace and completion of the job in one day. I got 2 trailer loads of solid, green wood. This stuff is heavy as can be. I got many comments and compliments. Good quality saws, sharp chains, a tractor with grapple, experience, and a plan of action is paramount.  |
