no it's not only 2 per section, but it is about half as many as deer hunters per section.

![](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn82/scottstacyrnlove/100_1850.jpg) ![](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn82/scottstacyrnlove/100_1852.jpg) Today was my first morning to get to the woods for myself. It was a great and yet quick season. Much like mahone I got to the spot at 0610 which was a little late, but in this field they are a little later. When I got sat down there were 3 birds going off. I made a couple of calls and then shut up. The turkey that I made mine gobbled and sounded like he was coming. So, I adjusted my position to get my gun in his direction. Then I saw a head turning and bobbing, but it wasn't the big white head that I was looking for it was a hen. She came out looked at my decoy and wandered around it. Which put her out of site. Then the big white head showed up. He strutted and walked right at the dangerous end of my gun. He crossed the fence took about 2 steps half strutting and raising his head to check out my decoy. On the second head up look at the decoy I sent the #4's flying and he then was mine. Oh, by the way it was 0647 when I looked at my cell. 23lbs, 1" spurs, 9.5" beard I thank God for His grace in giving me this beautiful bird. elmo

I took my daughter on her first ever hunt Saturday morning. We had 3 different birds responding to our calls. We probably had 15 hens come around and the biggest tom that I had ever seen (only been turkey hunting 3 years). He hung up at about 65 yards twice, once at about 0715 then came back at about 0900. The second time I was getting pressed for time as I had to be at work at 1100. He dropped over a hump on the other side of the field and out of the blind we went. I told her that we needed to get to almost the top of the hump to be close enough for her to shoot. So, we crawled to just where I had told her we needed to be, and he dropped out of strut and took off. Then I saw another head running by. The hen that he must have been following up that fence row busted us, just as I was getting ready to hand her the gun back. We counted our hunt as a success. I told her that us calling a bird in and getting to watch the way he reacted to any noise I made made the day a success. Killing a bird is icing on the cake. She was so excited to have been that close to a turkey outside the blind. She can't wait to go this Saturday.

I'm taking my 11 year old daughter saturday morning then evening. Her first hunt of any kind. I did take her out and have her shooting on Sunday. I worked her up to shooting the turkey loads with the turkey choke to not have her be suprised by the little extra kick.
10point, Where in Jefferson Co. are you going to be?

Also, make sure that you each have a compass. Look at it when you walk in and when you get ready to walk out to keep from getting lost. I know that area 39 has some turkeys, because I spooked them 2 years ago and watched them walk by me while deer hunting this last season.

no, I got drawn last year and didn't go because I already had my turkey. Unlike deer the turkey population hasn't hit the number to give away extras.
