If that's the right price of $40, you are really gonna make somebody's day! Hope it goes to a good home. Very nice gesture. It is the right price!

My wife and I just closed on a new home in St. Marys, GA. Is in the most southeastern county in the state 1 mile north of Florida. I have been in IN my whole life and we wanted to try something different. The deer are small, but there are a lot of them. They are also a TON of wild hogs and there are black bear too. I plan to stay an active member of this forum, since I have been around for a long, long time. Let the games begin! Good for you! Since I know nothing about St Mary’s GA, I’m curious as to why you picked that town! And was there a reason not to locate in Florida since it is so close!? We explored Amelia Island, FL all the way up the coast to Hilton Head, SC. It was all my wife's idea, and she is never spontaneous like that. St. Marys is quiet, money goes further for housing than FL and the gun laws are a bit more friendly in GA. The outdoor opportunities seemed a bit better too. We work remotely for ourselves, so we will be all over the place down there anyways. The schools are solid and the are where we bought the house is extremely nice. If we don't like it for some reason, we can always reposition ourselves in FL or SC perhaps.

Hopefully you both will enjoy the change in scenery. Seen you mentioned deer and hogs to hunt, nearenough to some swampy ground to hunt alligators? Not sure yet. I will report back when I get the lay of the land.

I used mine a fair amount this year with my crossbow and with a rifle. Nice setup indeed!

I will usually try to shoot a squirrel on that last shot if one’s right off the deck. Otherwise, I’ll just push the powder and bullet out and then clean. I shot a rabbit once with mine. It took care of the field dressing for me!

I shoot an Excalibur Mag 340 and I will probably never go back to a vertical bow. I have dropped it, dry fired it twice and I still killed a deer with it this season. It is super tough and I can switch out the limbs or the string easily at home. I am 41 years old, so clearly the oldest guy replying to this thread.

Well, I am finally processing my own deer. It was one of my goals this year. I shot a doe yesterday, dressed her and got her hanging all within 2 hours. We have nice cold weather so the plan is to let her hang until Monday evening or even Tuesday evening. I ordered a meat saw, freezer paper and tape, those 1lb burger bags and a meat tub. I have an electric meat grinder (never used) and freezer space. Any tips, advice or things to avoid that I should know would be much appreciated!

Good luck to everyone hunting today. I was planning on going, but we had friends over until after midnight plus my body hurts from yesterday. I am going to still pop out a time or two in late archery to see if I can snag a 3rd deer.

About 60 yards from a green food plot. Only a ed off squirrel so far. It's so peaceful, I may fall asleep...

This wind feels much colder than it is. A little light snow falling and a donkey or something going nuts in the distance.
