I use blackhorn 209 powder. It is so much better when it comes time to clean the old smoke pole. My wife even lets me do it in the house since I switched from black powder and the stink it makes.

I swab my barrel between each shot so it won't be too bad on me when I do break it back down.

I just remove the breech plug and pull the pellets out with a pipe cleaner and then push the sabot out the end of the barrel. I then lightly clean it and then re-oil. Been doing it for years this way.

I will usually try to shoot a squirrel on that last shot if one’s right off the deck. Otherwise, I’ll just push the powder and bullet out and then clean.
