With fawns getting ready to drop, food plots getting worked, trail cams getting hung, turkey season winding down and deer hunting consuming us 365 days a year.....I say we kick off the “Live from the deer woods 2022” deer season now!!

Sounds good to me. What I have learned the past week is deer sightings around my area and on my cameras have been going bonkers. I’ve got several FAT does and am thinking they are getting ready to drop some little ones. I’ve got a big crp field and think they would drop them there. I hope so. Come on October….

Had a first today. Neighbor stopped early this morning upset. His 2 beagles got out yday adternoon , one returned with bite wounds and other he found this morning on my property along creek eaten to bones. Never in my 20 plus years have we had coyotes attack, let alone kill one of our pets. Im guessing a pack of young pups or maybe a hungrey mother with pups? Regardless not gonna fly. Will be out this wekend to do some calling and plan on setting some traps over a roadkill in area he found his dog shortly.

I am in the process of transitioning to fully self-employed and that is taking a lot of my time. That being said, I have been wanting to get mineral sites and trail cameras out for a month now and they are still sitting in my hunting box at home. HAHAHA. I will get them out one of these days. I am excited for this year's prospects.

I have built up a very sizeable client base over the last 3 or 4 years, there's tons of work and not a whole lot of people with the skills or ambition to do said work, it's what I want to do, and most of all, God has put me and my family in a position to take the leap. Rather try now, even if it fails, than wish I would have 15 years for now. Good luck in your ventures.

I also am self employed. Been for over 22 years. I cannot imagine ever working for someone by the hour. No way. Not for me. I enjoy being in control of all my own finances and time… Well worth it.

Completely agree. It's nerve-wracking retraining my brain out of the "conventional thought" as far as work goes, but I am super excited to see what I can do with it. I've been doing VERY well doing it on the side and that is where my heart is, so I'm going for it.

Good luck. Like I said it’s well worth it. Especially if your a family man like me. That's the main reason. I have a wife who I am absolutely in love with. We will have been married 10 years in August. We have 4 kids who are 6.5 years, 4.5 years, 2.5 years, and 3 months. I am not missing these years with them. Life's too short to miss the best parts.

Yote attacked my sisters dog I shot mommy and trapped the pups.

Have buddies that run beagles all across the U.S. Without fail, every year, someone loses one to coyotes this time of year. When I run during birthing season I always run with my husky. He's always looking for a fight. Never really had much issue.

Regardless we are going to do some night calling this weekend and as soon as I find a road kill i'm going to put out in area found beagle carcus and set traps around it. We killed 4 last fall but evidently didnt kill enough. I suspect this was a pack of pups , but don't know forsure. With fawning starting our goal is to kill 5-6 within next couple weeks.

Really has grown this spring. Had my forest select cut last year and the briar and vegetation has taken over where the sun can get in now. Planted all the logging roads with red clover. Planted two small quarter acre spots in sunflower, now just waiting on the rain. Something else I tried was a bag of bird seed. I bought a 5 pound bag and planted it along the creek in a open spot that gets sun. Just wanting to see how that does.
