The Powerbelt aero lite you can absolutely not go wrong with out of the optima. Deadly accurate and deadly on deer. I usually match up with two 50 grain pellets.

It’s the bottom part of the description where it says it is a north west legal breech plug that accepts 1080 primers. I think I bought the wrong gun.

Powerbelts get a lot of hate, but I love them. They are deadly accurate and BY FAR the easiest to load. I also use 2 50gr. triple 7 pellets.

If yours looks similar to this 1 then #11 primers won't help you at all

That gun is made for use in NW states it uses a musket cap ignition system that is only required in Idaho and Oregon.

If you truly bought a "Northwest" model, then you are stuck with loose powder and musket caps. youtu.be/bmQXxhPNJc4

can't use BH 209 with percussion caps, not hot enough spark. Sounds like you got a rifle setup for the primitive seasons out west. Probably could get a breech plug that would take 209 primers.

I have the Traditions Pursuit XL and mine recommends not using the Powerbelt sabots and it also says not to use smokeless powder. I personally don't use the powder pellets as I use a powder guage and loose powder in mine and I only shoot 75 grains with a 350 grain Borlock lead bullet and I sighted mine in at 100 yards but I stepped out to 200 yards and only had a ⅝" drop from 100 yards and that was at Surgar Ridge shooting range

If you truly bought a "Northwest" model, then you are stuck with loose powder and musket caps. youtu.be/bmQXxhPNJc4The CVA™ Northwest Legal Optima™ V2 Muzzleloader shares the name of its popular predecessor. This second version gun has been re-designed with many new, innovative features. Modeled after CVA’s top-of-the-line Accura™ V2, the Optima™ V2 features the same trigger-guard with actuated breeching lever, same internal parts, and neutral center-of-gravity trigger. This muzzleloader also features CVA’s Patent-Pending NW Quick Release Breech Plug (NWQRBP), which is easily removed with your fingers, and makes the rifle 100% legal to hunt with in all the Northwest States. The Optima V2’s 100% ambidextrous stock, and CrushZone recoil pad make this gun one of the most comfortable you will ever shoot. The NW CVA™ Optima V2 comes with more quality features than any other muzzleloading rifle in its price range. Equipped with a 26” stainless steel fluted barrel, the Northwest Optima™ V2 is easy to maneuver in tree stands or in tight spots and is comfortable to carry in the mountains. The Optima™ V2 comes standard with Williams® Fiber Optic sights and CVA’s solid aluminum PalmSaver Ramrod. When compared to its competitors, the Optima™ V2 muzzleloader includes many features you won’t find anywhere else for the price. IMPORTANT NOTE: This Northwest Legal muzzleloader uses a musket cap ignition system that is only required in Idaho and Oregon. If you are hunting in any other state we recommend purchasing a non-Northwest Legal muzzleloader. For the 209 primer version of this rifle, CLICK HERE.

Yep, unfortunately you made a mistake on your purchase. Any way you might be able to return it for a inline CVA or Traditions Muzzleloader. All "inline muzzleloaders" utilize the 209 primers and are way better and easier to clean and modify

Your probably better and cheaper to go to a nearby Walmart or sporting goods store and pick 1 up. Walmart where I live had the CVA Wolf on sale for less than $200 and it was a scope combo

IMO... you need to find somebody that can show you the way! It's not hard, but a lot to learn in a short time. Experience would be your best and fastest friend to get you set up and going this late in the game. Everybody's contributions to the thread are great, but getting a thousand opinions can easily confuse you. You need one gun, one powder, one primer, and maybe several bullet/sabot combos that someone has available to try in your gun. Good luck, and hope someone can help you out in such short order. It's a fun game, and great time to hunt in the late season.
