For some reason I'm drawing a blank. About when do the deer draw hunts start opening for applications?

Now that we are a week away from the July 1st sign up date does anyone have a list of the State Parks participating this year?

The military refuges and some Fish & Wildlife and Conservation Areas are now taking applications. I applied for Big Oaks muzzleloader and firearms, and a FWA I've never been to before for early archery.
The list of state parks is not up yet, but I don't plan on applying for any reduction hunts.

Is the muzzleloader hunt at Atterbury "primative",or are in-lines allowed?

I can't link to it, because you have to sign in to register for the reserved hunts with your license# and personal information. But when you do sign in, it's in the drop down menu of hunts to apply for.

The State Park hunts a now posted for selection. It looks like the bring two un-named buddies the morning of the hunt that was used last year is not being used this year. Back to applying by yourself or as a group.

Nothing else I'm interested in. I hunted a state park last year and didn't care for it, way too many people in a park with no areas more than 1/4 mile from the road. It just wasn't enjoyable for me.
I do really enjoy hunting at Big Oaks. I never see a lot of deer, and a few times have seen zero deer. I've never killed one there. I did see a pretty nice one with @ukwill last year, but the rascal was across the road in a restricted area. But overall I think it's a high quality hunt for public land, even if densities are low.
I'll keep checking back, as sometimes properties get added as the summer goes on.

I called the DNR and they said there is an early and late hunt. Nothing showing up for early hunt though.

I called the DNR and they said there is an early and late hunt. Nothing showing up for early hunt though. The early and late hunts are treated as two separate hunts. Look in the same drop down box where you would select between the 3 military/refuge hunts, Dove Draw, Pheasant Draw, ect, ect. At the bottom of that list you will see the Early or Late selections.

I have hunted two State Park reduction hunts. Never again. Too many hunters. Rude hunters. Hunters who have no concern for your safety and so on. I am a supporter of DNR but reduction hunts are their blind spot. Really surprised that there haven't been accidents.

Just like most any public land hunting areas where there are a high number of people, the further you get off the beaten path, the less people you see.
