I got another one this morning. Not sure why but, I never even considered taking a photo. Just dropped it off at my sister's.

Obviously I have seen some HIGE deer on the ol boob tube and in magazines.
However, the largest deer I had ever seen in person while hunting was back in 2001. I was new to archery hunting. I was hunting the very first permission piece I had ever obtained. It was a mere 7 acres but, it was the right 7 acres. On an aerial map, it was the perfect funnel along a ditch and ag field.
This is the spot I killed my first deer ever back in 1999.
I built a blind out of some scrape metal. And was sitting in the blind sometime before firearm season. I had my PSE Maurader that I had just purchased at Cabela's. ($179.00 for the ready-to- shoot package). I had forgotten my release that night. I figured since I only had a couple of hours to hunt, I would just sit and see what happens. A buck came walking through with only, maybe, 45 minutes of legal light. He was tall, not real wide, but had trash on each one of his 8 tines. His brows were thick, bladed and tall. I decided to shoot at him just using my fingers in the absence of my release. (Huge mistake and poor ethical decision). I shot in front of the deer. He didn't really even act like he knew what happened. He walked off cautiously with his tail tucked.
That was the biggest buck I had ever seen, live and on the hoof.

Well, I backed out last night after my shot. Went back a couple hours later to see if I could find the deer. Arrow had minimal blood on it and I couldn’t pick up much of a blood trail. The other thing that tipped me off that it might not be good is that the arrow had a couple little pieces of meat on it. Almost like when you hit one in the brisket. I called my buddy who has a dog. We tracked this morning for 2 hours. Found minimal blood. A drop here, a drop there. And the blood was not dark red, but rather a pinkish red color. Tracked for about 130 yards and then we couldn’t find any more blood. I’m guessing what happened is due to him being quartering away, my arrow must have missed just in front of the heart and basically passed through the brisket. It really sucks. I am hoping that I get a picture of him on trail camera, alive and well. Lessons learned: 1. slow down just a hair on the shot to analyze every detail of how the deer is standing and 2. Watch the deer’s path after the shot and mark key landmarks as to where he went in relation to said landmarks. I know both of these things, but last night, I made those mistakes. Kudos to you searching appropriately and being able to recognize any mistakes that were made. Several years back I did the same on a buck. Rushed the shot without giving much thought to his front leg on my side. It was back and I did not hit anything vital. I searched for two days with a dog and then grid searched with several friends. About a week after the shot, he showed back up on trail cam. I hope for the same results for you.

Had some in my yard and across the fresh cut corn field. Light frost as well. Central Jasper County.

I just finished getting her quartered and on ice. She ran into the worst briar thicket. Idk how she ran so far with no lungs. Maybe 300-yard drag to the truck. I drug her ungutted to help keep debris out of her gut cavity. She was 120 pounds field dressed. My back is already screaming. We have maybe 5 pounds of meat from last year in the freezer, so it's good to start restocking. I hope to get m youngest out next weekend. Good deal! Sounds like the shot was good. But, those does seem to take off like a rocket after they've been hit. The cover a lot of ground quickly. I'm glad you got some more freezer meat!

Follow the money and follow the guns seized. Where did they come from? Israel has the absolute top spy intelligence in the world. How did this, thousands of Hamas fighters get past their intelligence? How did they not "know". I'm not a conspiracy guy bit c'mon. Israeli intelligence shared with Hamas that they knew where their leaders were 24/7 just in case but they were caught off guard by many guesses, 10,000 Hamas fighters were planning to breach their boarders. Hmmmm. Don't know what is going on but it's not on the up and up and us citizens being taken hostage doesn't bode well for the US being drawn in. Look at Russia and Ukraine to track arms. Where did the US arms seized from hamas fighters come from. Who have we been arming for the last year plus? I see where you're going (I think) and I agree with you. Ukraine isn't some innocent nation. Don't get me wrong, I hated seeing the innocent people in Ukraine get harmed but, Zalensky is a money launder and is probably supply Iran or whomever is the biggest buyer. As for Israel intelligence, I cannot believe that happened either. Maybe someone fed them false info or jammed their system somehow. You would have thought they would have seen this coming.

I still enjoy the show but, definitely miss Bill and Jared. Seems Max and Grant are gone now too.
I have been watching Bill's new program as well as Jared's.

I'm done until either I get my new limb assembly from Center Point archery or gun season, whichever comes first. I concentrated more on the top limb than I did on the lower, and it shows signs of splintering on the bottom outside edge from about the middle of the limb to the end of the riser Smart for not using or risking their use. That can become a dangerous game with a violent outcome. I'm glad you spotted that before it was too late. Best wishes getting it repaired.

Thanks Creepy Joe for sending the $6billion to Iran. I'm sure the Hamas had no access to any of that though.
It'll be interesting to see if our miserable president will be as willing to help Israel as he was Ukraine.

I have a portable blind that sits on a hay wagon. I have been placing it in the same location in the same field for a few years now. The location chosen is based on safety more than anything else.
There is a woodlot next to the field that I do not hunt. However, if the hunter that does hunt those woods has mineral blocks set out, does that affect me and my rights to hunt on my property?
Thanks, Brandon.
