She is a whopper!

Well, there he is, got him in the truck out the gate. Going to get him hung up and might go out tonight at my place. Came in by himself around 7:45est. 350 legend, went 20 yards. I’ll be honest, I seen 6 doe and 4 bucks and only shot this guy. I know it’s a park hunt, but I only wanted one deer and he was the first one I seen. Hung around for 3 hours in my stand to not disturb because shots were going off all over and I like to watch.

Got my regular buck for the season yesterday.  I had my bow in hand and was going to shoot this yearling doe that I had seen Saturday and that had been milling around for 15 minutes when I saw a bigger deer coming down the next ridge over on a trail that could bring him close.  For some reason he froze behind some brush and didn't move for about a minute.  It was right when the thermals starting drifting down hill so maybe he caught a whiff?  Then he started walking away out of sight so I went to hang my bow up and a couple of deer blew behind me and took off.  I didn't even know they were there.  He came back around about 5 minutes later and came in to a little under 30 but I couldn't get a clear shot.  He wandered back towards the way he came to about 60 yards then came back and decided to harass the yearling, giving me a hard quartering away shot at about 32.  I almost shot that yearling on Saturday right at the end of shooting light but had something to do that evening so I didn't want to deal with her.

Found him about 150 yards from the shot.

Saw her drop. Waiting now to see if any more come through and don’t want to mess up others hunt.

In the stand at Lincoln State park. Just shot a doe.

Went out for an afternoon hunt. Got up in stand, and thought, "that rock wasn't there before" in a small opening in brush. Well the "rock" was a forkie's back. Then 20 minutes later a deer comes towards me. It slowly gets closer and and closer, as it eats. Looked like a doe. Once I get an open area I shoot. Well looking for it was easy, but get up to it and became thankful that button bucks in IN are counted as antlerless because it was one of those that looked EXACTLY like a doe until I got up and took a look! I've shot one or two others over the years. One was my first deer, one was also mistaken for a small doe. Still happy. Pics later when Internet is much better and paid for.

What an exciting morning. Son has been chasing this deer for two weeks. Saw him yesterday at 65 yards and he never would come in. Was so bummed. Got up this morning and said I really don’t feel like going this morning. We told him it was totally up to him. He decided to drive over himself just in case he was going to get out early. I texted him at 6:22 told him spike coming his way, well thank goodness cause the spike evidently jumped Narley up with doe and at 6:30 he got it done. When I talked to him at 6:45 I honestly thought he was going have heart attack. He said mom, I know I got a good shot and the lighted nock was still in him. We waited an hour before going to look no frickin blood.
Drops of blood was all we saw and not much at all. We walked about 50 yards and Jared started screaming- there is there he is. Omg I have never been so pumped!!! If anyone deserves this, Jared does. Woody will post pics cause I don’t know how.
