My in-laws pond is lower than I had ever seen it in the 26 years I've been around.
So incredibly thankful for the rain we're getting right now. Unfortunately, I have already brought my rain gauge in for the winter.

I had a good day today, 12 mainframe with a little "trash" point makes him 13. Oh he's a brute! Congratulations on that fine specimen of a whitetail buck!

Cold packed, 1 cube of beef boulon, 1/2 teaspoon of canning salt. Cook 90 min under 10psi. Use in soups, stews, BBQ, etc...I used all meat except the back straps. You know, I had never tried canning deer meat. But, I was thinking about it yesterday. What's the life span while pressure canned?

I forgot to take pics, but tonight I took two backstraps and cut them up into about 1 inch pieces. Tenderized them. Then dipped them in egg and covered some in crunched up crackers and the ones for me in crunched up hot pork rinds. Cooked them all in butter on the griddle. Let’s just say there wasn’t a morsel of meat left. Both backstraps totally gone. Sounds absolutely delicious!

I thought it would be fun/interesting to share pics of our deer after we get them prepped, cooked and ready to eat. Share your recipes, cooking preferences, the cuts of meat used, etc... And of course, PHOTOS! (Maybe start a similar thread in the turkey forum and the small game?). I got my summer sausage back this evening. Original and jalapeno & cheese. They paired great with the fire roasted tomato triscuits and beer.

Longest successful track job I've had. Please add a big doe to Team 3. Got her good this morning. Edit: Got her with my "old" .50 Pursuit muzzleloader that has served me extremely well since I started hunting. I have rarely ever needed to sigh it in. Today at 30 yards it hit right on the money. Congratulations!

That would make sense but remember they are state employees and getting up and starting work at 4 or 5 am is not the normal. Most will never start working that early and most likely why they are walking in the woods at 8am. To say a CO is not up working at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning is crazy talk!! Those guys are working around the clock in shifts. Especially this time of the year!! SMH I know for a fact that the CO's in my area work varying shifts, all hours of the day and night, weekends, holidays...

FRIENDSHIP, Ind) -- A hunter suffered serious injuries after falling from a tree stand near Friendship Saturday. The accident happened around 4 p.m. at a property on South County Road 575 East. Friendship volunteer firefighrers responded to the emergency and say the hunter was carried 200 yards to an awaiting ambulance. The hunter was later flown to a Cincinnati hospital with what firefighters say are significant injuries. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery!
