I saw a really nice buck behind my house this afternoon that had a doe locked down along the ditch.

Finally add an 8pt for team #9. Wow it has been a tough season but I enjoyed all th time in the woods. I need to make some adjustments to stand laocations for next yr. I think I was going in to deep in the property and will be better off hunting more of the fringes. Shot this one on a stand pretty close to the rd. Congratulations! |

Turned into a good hunt for me tonight. At 4:30 I had 3 does come in fast from a direction I wasn’t expecting. They caught me off guard and I couldn’t get an open shot. 15 mins later I had another come in fast and give me a 30 yard broadside. She ran 10 yards and dropped at the edge of the field for quick drive pick up.  Had her dressed before sunset and just got her quartered and packed on ice. I wish they were all that easy. Nice! In the truck. Turned out button buck, but decent sized. Long shott about 120yds thru the woods. 50yd recovery. Luke made a great shot, and tracked it up all on his own. First mz deer!  Congratulations!!! |

Home and starting skinning and quartering. I would have normally taken a doe, but everybody says there is more meat on a buck, so Spike is dead. Long live Spike. Details later after the work is done.  Congratulations!! Must have dropped relatively close which equals good shot placement! |

Just chiming in, not a pity party or anything, but i've had to get a second job to make ends meet because my hours got cut at job #1 in addition to everything else getting more expensive. Anybody else? I work any and all part time gigs I can. It helps but, it's rough living that way. My pay hadn't got cut but, it sure hasn't gone up either. |
