My dad is still out there standing at the corner of our sheep pasture watching the deer. There's 3 or 4 big bucks hanging around and fighting/chasing a doe in the CRP literally 100 yards from him. 2 of my family members are glued to the windows watching. Fingers crossed they come back over and things get interesting super fast.
Tomorrow may be Sunday morning, but I think I will try and hit the food plot again since the action is hard this weekend with peak rut being just a few days ago and a lot of hunters hitting the woods. Blind already has orange on it (came like that). Talk with my dad a bit more later on - the 3-legged buck might get it if I go out and see him tomorrow. I don't want to see him have to deal with that bad leg much longer.

I marched the 700 yards across the field I had the young lady exit her stand. We went a rustled up her brother and dad too. She admitted to taking the shots (407 yards onto my property to be exact) and did apologize. Her dad, the three of them actually, promised that something like that will never happen again.
I left my rifle in my blind and had my partner in the detective bureau muted but on speaker phone so he could record the encounter so no accusations could be made about me threatening them. Aaaannnd in case they decided to shoot me in the back, I'd have a witness. Lol!
I got their names and exchanged phone numbers with the dad. I ended the conversation telling them good luck and told them that the next time we have to meet, I'd rather it be celebrating over a deer.

I didn't make it to the tree until about 10. Didn't get to sleep until 3ish because of my daughter's softball tournament. Gonna give it a couple hours and hit it again later unless I have some action. Reading through this,it appears I haven't missed much, LOL. Good luck and shoot straight.

By there the quietest Opening day in my lifetime hunting. Maybe one of the warmest bow to gun seasons. How slow it's been reminds me of the mid 1970's. Same goes at home. No chasing and doe fawns still together. My other camera had 1 doe picture today. I'm still out. Hoping sun shines soon and deer movement.

No sense in making things any worse.
