How many of the 39 could have been the same deer multi-sightings? Honestly don’t know So amongst that I think one spike for sure was a double sighting but I didn’t count that as an extra (40) so that’s why 39 As far as the does or younguns? No idea. They weren’t wearing name tags.. Now if you'd take a paintball gun with ya, you could mark them to know who is whom! |

Buck down, Shot him Wednesday morning had good blood never could find him, even searched with a thermal drone still nothing. This afternoon, I see a bunch of turkey vultures circling about a half a mile north of where I was hunting. We took the drone up and found the deer out in the middle of the field. Pic and story later

I’m out again tonight. I’d like to be hunting field edge but wind wasn’t right. Set up in a route to food. Sweaty walk in. Glad to be in some shade.

First sit of the year and I feel like a rookie. Forgot my seat cushion, take them off so the squirrels don’t eat them, and forgot my thermacell. Have a decent wind and a few green spots left in the beans, so who knows this time of year!!

Tonight I’m hunting squirrels on my property.
I’ve got a rogue squirrel who seems to like setting off my one cell cam like crazy.
To the tune of 20-30 pics per sitting and that could be 2-3 times a day.
I did just kill one of his buddies nearby but I know it’s not him as he’s a red and I just killed a gray.

I am going back to where I was yesterday on public.
Only gonna go to the ridge where I saw 90% of my deer.
Bringing a good buddy who also used to hunt this area with me years ago.

Just had two does spook downwind of me 50 yards. I thought for sure they were spooking because of my scent, however, they ran straight to me so who knows. Couldn’t get them stopped for a shot. Literally 3 yards from the base of my tree.

Squirrel hunted tonight and spooked 3 different deer at different times. 1 for sure was a doe, the other 2 I only saw white tails and anything but their heads.

Had a group of 5 young bucks come through together right at sunset. They were goofin around and doing a little sparing on their way through. 2 small 8 points all the way down to one with a couple of stubs. Never had a bachelor group that big come through while in the stand. Usually it’s a pair or 3 at the most. I got a pic of the guy in charge.  |

In a tree I haven’t hunted in over 12 years.
Used to have good luck here. Back to the public place I saw all those deer the other day.
My buddy is 100 yds from me.
