Deer finally moving in Warrick county. Missed a big 12 pt with 2 drop times. Chocolate rack. Beautiful! Left range finder in car and shot was longer than I thought. Barely went under belly. Getting back out very soon. Deer might move all.day.

Yeah. That’s most likely when you’ll find it.

Any more info on the buck from Decatur co? Guy from North Carolina shot a 217” buck on a property he leases.

Been watching a shooter 10 point bedded with a doe for an hour across the ridge. Would be nice if they eventually made their way this way before dark. 🤞🏼

Taking day off and catching up at work. (Still raining here pretty good.) As of 8 a.m. we had 1.5" and been raining ever since. Looks like will clear out in next few hours. Be out in the a.m.

Tried this morning but pretty sure Mr. Slinky completely ruined the best movement. Got in late again. Spooked 3 from 60 yards from one of our stands heading in. Didn't see anything other than a few birds and squirrels until a distant squirrel began chattering, then a deer blew at something from, guess what, the stand I had chosen not to sit in on the way in. Few minutes later a coyote crosses a small ravine I was next to and heads down the slope behind me. Lots of squirrel chattering for the next few minutes, then Slinky decides to come back up the slope and head towards me - lucky coyote, I could have got it if I had permission here. I started grunting like crazy and that made the yote nervous enough it moved away and back down the slope. Yote made a circle and came back up but on the other side and started going towards the neighboring property but suddenly turned tail and headed back down the way it came. That yote managed to cover much of the piece we hunt. Half an hour of coyote hanging around meant far fewer deer. 45 minutes later a small 6 pt comes cruising right from the same direction the yote went. Came within 20 yards - a bit tempting given the slow day. Bleated at him to see his reaction - he turned and looked at first but then ignored me and headed down the slope whee I had come in. Squirrel and bird activity picked up a bit, but I have school this evening plus not being able to tell time based on the sun bothers me so I got down and took an extra long walk out on the opposite side of the property to check for deer using the creek bottoms and cliff sides. Came up on a tall spike bedded near the woods edge about 50 yards from our orchard stand - he jumped up and then stared for a bit but decided he didn't want anything to do with me and took off snorting into the creek bottoms. These smaller leg bucks are tempting as a meat hunter wanting to get it done, but I'm holding out for something with bigger antlers and a bigger body.

Got down and went to scout new spot. Jumped small 8 with a hot doe not 100 yards from the road.
