Rain in gun season dont bother me, as long as not monsoon or sideways rain.
Rain in bow season, 👎.
You can remedy the no blind in short order. Really decent ones to be had for $150 and under. 360deg view see thru windows look awesome.
I really enjoy blind hunting more each year as I get older. Sure cant beat a cushy bag chair, and discreet movement with snacks and drinks. You do lose some view, so if possible I put the back where I can't see or shoot, and problem solved.

I'm on deercation all next week. As luck would have it, after months of drought, rain is showing up this weekend. Lol! It looks like warmer temps next week as well (especially Monday and Tuesday). I'm torn as to whether I should work Monday and Tuesday and save those two days for firearms season or not. I consider November 4-8 to be the best days of the year, which happens to be Monday-Friday this year, so it pains me to miss two of those days in the woods. But, rain isn't conducive to good blood trailing, nor do I feel like getting wet. I have a tree umbrella, but no ground blinds. Thoughts and advice? I would work this coming Monday and Tuesday but then take off the 11th and 12th instead. We are on later cycle for the firearms' start date of Nov. 16th. , have had a lot of luck between Nov. 5th and 15th over years

My advice is to save more vacation time for next year and you won’t have these dilemmas!! Then the year after that..save even more vacation time and next thing you know you have the whole month off!! 😆

Starting my rutcation tomorrow after work. Don’t go back until 11/18. Things have been busy so definitely looking forward to getting the heck out of dodge. Will probably spend some time at my urban stuff too. Usually produces pretty good. Had this one daylight so things are looking up!

It took me 21 years to get there. I'll get 39 days. Hopefully next year I'll get to use more than 2 days of it for hunting.

Luckily, wife likes to fish, so that counts.

I'm leaning towards working Monday and Tuesday next week, and trading those days for the Monday/Tuesday after the firearms opener. They're calling for almost an inch of rain here Tuesday and 15-20 MPH winds.
I never use a ground blind because I really don't have any good places for one. No crop fields and the broomsage field has such a slope that I couldn't see very far unless elevated. I sat with a buddy in his blind years ago and hated it. I felt like visibility suffered and I was missing things.
My vacation is capped at 3 weeks, even after almost 30 years here, and I cannot take more than a week at a time. I also sell back one week to the company every December due to the complexity of taking off. Being a foreman now makes it even worse.

It's almost that time. I always take the last week of bow season off and hunt with my dad no matter what. Last year the weather was brutal as I think a few days pushed 80. This season looks to be decent and the way things are looking, we should hit it just about right based of what we have seen so far with rut action. So, for me its hunting this weekend, then work thru til a half day Friday and in the woods thru gun opener. Good luck everyone, it's about to be fun!!!

Reck'n its about time to hit the woods. Mother nature is going to wash my clothes this afternoon , then getting my outdoor chores and jobs finished up this weekend. Starting Monday my office will be in a tree. The most magical time of year is here. Good luck all. And PLEASE wear those safety harnesses.

I bet they don’t “cap” how much the expect of you. Shouldn’t have to sell back vacation time because they can’t accommodate properly.

Ran couple cats to vet this a.m. early, had 2 different bucks cross road in front of me with noses to ground. Seeking has definitely started.

So fortunate being a business owner I don’t have to request time off. If I want time off I schedule jobs around it. Of course some times I get jobs on a day I’d rather be hunting but can take off pretty much whenever I want.
