No deer for me. But heard and finally put eyes on turkeys. Would be nice to whack one of them.
It was 25deg at one point on the drive here. I was not real excited about that after leaving a warm bed. Lol. Showing two days of 80deg this week. I'm not nearly as enthusiastic without a gun in my hand.
Havent heard from Luke yet. Might be sleeping. 🤣

I'm solo, so I figured I'd give Hovey Lake in Posey County a try. Already seen 9 on the way in on the county road, so maybe I'll have some luck. New location, no clue where to go, OnX doesn't give me much Intel other than I'm on legal ground. Sounds like it might just be a good day lol Use to take annual trip to that place its been 15 years ago since hunted but we did kill some good deer . |

I'm up to 19 seen thus far, and all have been outside the woods. I'm still poking around this place and trying to stay away from other hunters so I don't ruin their chances

Well I'm trying to get caught up on the forum action but it appears that I'm not the only 1 not having any luck. Been tied up with the "Work Life" and working 6 10+ hrs days building bridges in Henderson KY. I'm planning on going out in the morning solo, but I'm really just going out for a "Escape" if you will. No intentions of seeing or harvesting anything, I just need to gather my thoughts and get snapped back to my roots. Not use to being "solo" but I can't see having my hunting buddy with me for just 1 day of hunting. Are you working on the Ohio river bridge ? |

We did pour the East and West bound overpasses on I-64 just East of the Cynthiana exit about 2 weeks ago |

Ok, reason I ask is that I’m hunting about 1000 yards away from the Indiana bridge being built. They have been setting beams in the ground all week so not much activity here. Did have 3 does by me today.

Saw a nice buck trot across a field a ways off. But, I am too cold to enjoy this anymore. Gun on my hand, its a different story. My legs always get cold, so I have made an executive decision that I am going shopping for some real cold weather duds. Getting to the point in my life that I realize it's not getting any easier, and if I want to be out in this, I gotta be prepared.
Luke is hanging right in there tho. We have bucks and toms on cam recently at this current time, so he is toughing it out. So awesome to see him maturing and having the will to carry on. His patience and perseverance has overshadowed mine already.

All in all, 21 slick heads total from 5:30am-9am. No shots taken, but I'm pretty impressed by the #'s. I did put a stalk on a doe, but when I managed to get setup, she was nowhere around lol. I'd love to go back this afternoon, but that would put me at a total of 240 miles total for both trips. I think I'll just stay home and be glad I could afford the first trip
