Me and my wife took the dogs on a walk to the back field. There were 4 scrapes on the 15 yard trail to the field. You can see 3 in this picture. Second picture is from work this morning. 2 young bucks were sparring

Yesterdays morning hunt was a bust due to dnr doing work on the area I was hunting. Guess that’s what I get for deciding to walk a half mile past the road closed sign before venturing off the road to scout for sign lol
Evening was dead until the last 5 minutes of light and 10 minute. Couldn’t see well enough to age, but a racked buck that was basically only rack visible was feeling angry! Saw lots of new rubs when I got there and squeezed in close on foot (in street clothes). I did some calling with a few minutes left and he got as close as 40 yards (after shooting light). Sounded like a horse was stalking around!
Coyote howled once I was packed up and he took off.
Once I got to the truck (80 yards away on the other side of the house) the homeowner was outside to say hello!
I said shhhh… let’s try something !
I snort wheezed and made a front yard scrape only to hear the buck make a scrape in return , right in the food plot behind the house! She about died when she found out that was possible! Love it
I LOVE ANGRY DEER! Sooo much fun!
He may be an angry 2 yo or an angry 7 yo, but it’s just the same when you can’t see em! 😂😂😂
Tonight - was pretty. We only saw a tube of pringles disappear 🎯😝🥰

Came home to my place. I’ve got a dr’s appt early in the morning and don’t t want to accidentally kill a deer in my other spot (1 hr 10 min drive to my house) and a 1 hr walk back in. Figure if I did kill something I most likely won’t get home before midnight if I’m lucky. Hunting a stand that’s at the edge of my property I haven’t hunted yet this year. The wind is good for it and I don’t bust on through the center of my place. With all the leaves there ain’t no going silent. Had some turkeys in my one camera that is 140ish yds from here and I heard some squawking on my way in so maybe I’ll bust a bird tonight. Hunting crossbow tonight.

Would have hunted deer but wanted to go after squirrel yesterday and school today and work, school, and a possible event tomorrow, so not hunting unless I go out Saturday morning.

I had a young buck chasing and grunting all around the hillside right before dark. He was definitely worked up and looking for a date.

This week should be good hunting over primary or mock scrapes. It is close to getting good fellas.

I'm settled into a stand I set in early September. Thankful for the OnX pin I set and reflective rope of the lifeline I had on the tree.
Jumped an unknown deer walking in. Several fresh scrapes on the faded road I walked in on too.

We just had this buck show up yesterday. (Gotta love the rut) Another buck we would like to see get another year. Will get a pass by our coop. Has a lot of potential , great time length, just very little mass to go with.

I didn't see anything but a squirrel army this morning. Lots of acorns raining down.
In a different stand now. It's hot and the farmer is harvesting corn nearby, but I'll try anyway since I drove all the way out here.

I'm in a cedar tree on a field edge tonight. I'm hoping the buck working the 4 scrapes I found comes into the field from this corner. This stand has been up 3 years. This is my first time hunting it. My dad uses it sometimes.
