We shot the crossbow with the intent of making it out tonight. Then the BIG wind hit. Holy moly! It blew off a good amount of leaves, and brought in a big temp drop. It is now cranking along so bad, I dont know if I would even gun hunt! So... I got out my old Excalibur crossbow and tuned it up. Shooting lights out like usual. Now we will both be able to hunt separately when we start our season. Got a trip out of town next weekend, then the hunting will go on the front burner. It didn't get windy here until 9pm. |

Just talked to my local buddy. His weather station recorded 29mph at 1:40pm CST today. It blew and blew and blew like all heck. Not sustained either, it shook from all directions. Figured the hunt was shot. Oh well. |

Got this on camera today. Lol! Nice Massey. A bit bigger than mine The landowner hadn't gotten around to bush hogging this year, and I wasn't really too worried about it. I recently told him that I'd seem more deer in that sagebrush field when it wasn't cut than when it was. I guess we'll see how it affects things this season. |

Was too tired to wake up an hour ago to get out at sunrise..... Only just getting going. Hopefully I won't bust them all walking in since I will be walking in during prime time!

Son is on fall break from college and I had today off, so we are sitting in the blind behind the house. One coon is it so far.

Holiday today and cold front pushing, I’m up in the tree . Slow so far 0 deer hard to see very far with canopy of leaves still on .

We just had a fork horn milling around us for a while. Never did get close enough for a shot. Son isn’t picky with minimal time to hunt, so that little buck is lucky he didnt get close enough.

I've seen 2 does, a button buck and currently watching 5 hens. Unfortunately does were out of range.

Oh no, stopped receiving texts from him. Just got a picture on the cell cam there. It was him walking out with a thumbs down. I think there may have been a miss..

I'll be in my new set stand at the in-laws tonight after work. Dont really enjoy how i set it. Ill be locked in the whole time. Good lucky all.

I made my first sit of the season this morning. Saw a couple coons and some ducks, no deer. Not really surprised, I picked a low odds, low impact spot. I’m getting ready to go back out for the evening hunt.
