Well, I guess the skunk was a good omen yesterday afterall. I Had a tom strutting around 2 hens on the edge of the beanfield and the mowed hayfield i was set up in. I was able to get out of my blind and bellycrawl to the edge where he was strutting. 19.751lbs with a 10.5 inch beard. Id rather be lucky than good.

You guys still hung in there......and teaching Luke the ins and outs is IMO your greatest gift! He is a lucky young man. I agree those cameras can be both a benefit and deterrent, like you said its hard to get fired up on an area when the cameras aren't showing anything. Thanks. Just doing my duty. It wont be long and he will be the one helping pull me thru the woods and water. 😉 |

Thanks everyone for the congrats. My adreneline must have been on high during the belly crawl. When i took a shower after the hunt, my shirt was torn in 2 places and i had all kinds on scratches on my belly. It sure was an intense crawl. I have killed a few by crawling through the woods or fields over the years.

Congratulations to parkerbow on your "stay after it til the end" drive and to all the other successful hunters as well. Sure enjoy reading the successe and not so successful stories of everyone's hunts. Just being able to get after em is a good thing IMO. Thanks to Woody for the putting the teams together and team tabulations.

I ended up not hunting yesterday evening due to not feeling good. But sure wish I could have. Just ate tag soup this season.
