The last few days the birds have been gobbling as early as 45 mins before sunrise. That's only a couple hours AFTER I go to bed normally! ๐ณ

Wind stiff in Marshall county. We moved and are tucked in tight with wind at our back now. Gobbling like crazy to our west. Historically good spot.

Took the son of the landowner I hunt on out. Textbook hunt. Heard him on the roost. Set up in a blind maybe 100 yards away in the woods with 2 decoys. After maybe 30 minutes of sporadic calling he gobbled very close. Ended up being 2 toms. He rolled one at 30 yards. Walking back to truck now.

Not much gobbling went in blind this spring. Heard one way off at day break, Lots of sign. Decided to move back by the natural blind where we always hear them just got back here. Will do a couple soft ylps and see if anything turns up.

Slow start for us. Nothing after the gobbling on the roost. My buddy says they normally would have come thru by now. Wind and cold temps kinda take the fun out of it. No shots heard. We keep talking about how good a hot breakfast would be. So if no action soon, we will see how good it really is. ๐

We pulled the plug. Drove around the neighborhood where we always see birds. A big fat zero. Back out to different spot tonight, as long as the weather cooperates. If not, gonna try to roost one for Luke's draw hunt tomorrow.

His dad and I both reiterated to him it's not always that easy which he understood. Only about 17#, but 10" beard and 1" spurs. It felt double that walking out with the blind, gun, chair and other gear

We almost had one this morning right out of the parking lot. We were getting ready and he started gobbling. He was in on us fast and we had no time to set up. We were in the sun and when he poked his head out neither Caleb nor I could see a beard so he won today. Caleb's got a paper to write tomorrow so we won't be out. Heard 2 other gobbles the rest of the day. Hopped around different spots trying to get a gobble nothing was taking the bait. We'll hit it again soon.
