Two Canada geese flew Over and circled back honking to beat the band. You’d think that would solicit at least one gobble. Nope.

Just had a coyote go in and attack the flock. Hens are on the ground but the Tom went up into a tree. Would’ve changed to coyote season quickly if he came this way.

A hen just slipped in on me. She is in the decoys She picked around a little then I heard a loud cluck in the pines behind me. She went that way and left. I heard one shot about a 1/2 mile away |

Had a bird on roost but he wouldn't come in. Drifting away. Going to try to cut him off.

 He was about a hundred yards away from me but too much brush to see him for about an hour. He would answer every call I threw at him but he wouldn’t come any closer. I must have finally talked dirty enough to him he finally came in on a straight shot. Took him at 50yds with the old 10 ga. Now on to Michigan. |

Pretty much a repeat of yesterday morning. Few gobbles from the roost and then silence. Got my stake out blind in front of me and I’m sitting near my camera where turkeys have moved past the last 2 days between 10 and 5. I dislike deerkey hunting, but when they’re not talking not much else to do.

The sleep gods got the better of me. I couldnt take any more, so had to fully recharge the batteries. Back at it next chance. Congrats to the successful men.

Saying 30deg in morning. Feels more like deer hunting weather than turkeys! Like usual, they lied. It was 27°F when I left for Freedom, IN this morning. You stocking that pay lake down there? |
