Only found 12 small grays about the size of a thimble. I found a fallen tree that looked like it was loaded with chicken of the woods last year. Can’t remember will chicken of the woods come back year after year?

Can’t remember will chicken of the woods come back year after year? It normally does. There is a false one that pops up in August that doesn't taste good, wait until October to look for them.

Those look good drfleck. It seems like my mushroom switch got turned off. I’ve got 2 growing, but waiting for them to call up some friends. Yesterdays rain and warmer weather should help.

Here's a few I found today. Slow start but I found one good patch right before it was time to leave and it made the day.

Every spring and fall me and a couple buddies take a day off work and go screw around and do whatever we want. We call it Piddle day, cause we just piddle around and do whatever we care to do. No work or other responsible tasks are allowed. Most spring Piddle days involve a good breakfast, some kind of fishing and mushrooms. Well, the 3 of us us spent a good bit of time in the woods, and only came up with about 15 mushrooms, not even worth a picture. If mosquitos were mushrooms we would have made out like bandits. Seems like they are about done here in north central Indiana. Caught a few fish in my pond, a good breakfast, so all in all it was a good day.

Everyone deserves a Piddle day or 2 per year. Hook up with a few of your good buds and enjoy. We all get too old too fast.

Taken Daphne, my twin sister and her son out mushroom hunting tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully after this warm weather and rain, some popped up. Found a few greys on the 24th but left them since they were just breaking the surface.

Nicely done! Thought you may have been too late, but looks like you got to them just in time.

I didn’t want to say anything either, but I would have thought you were too late too. I’m not too far from you, and I’m done. Shows what I know! Good for you Genesis!
