I have found small ones and cover them to pick later and have not noticed any big change in size???

The ones that I had left had maybe gained a 1/4 inch in 3 days. Maybe I went back too soon?
Just watched a few time lapse on Youtube and it looks like the majority of mushrooms don't grown much at all after the first 24 hours. Although there was one that came up next to one that did not grow any more and that second one grew pretty large.
I don't think I'll worry about leaving them to get any bigger.

When I was delivering fish West of Star City the owners grandson found enough to fill a 2 1/2 gallon zip loc bag. Yellows about 5"-6" tall.

 Found a couple of blacks like this one at my place this evening. Also stepped on one! They weren’t too plentiful yet, so I decided to leave them and will check back this weekend. These blacks are always one of the first up at my place, so it should be getting good in the next 2 weeks or so. |

Heading out now for perhaps my last hunt for the spring. It's been TERRIBLE so far, I have picked 23 and have been keeping track of miles walked, I'm well over 1 mile per mushroom!

Just got back from looking for a small group of SHAGGY MANES that I saw the other day but apparently the cold weather did them in however I did find my first morels.

 Found these this morning, another dozen or better throughout the week. These go to my dad, at 81, not sure how many mushrooms he has left. It’s real early, and I’m finding some, but there not as thick as I was hoping. |
