On the way home tonight I drove past the pond we always fish. I had to stop and get a sunset picture of it. I wish the electric lines weren't in it. Not perfect but my phone has a magic eraser. Still see remnants but not bad for a couple clicks That looks much better. Thank you

In the 1st two hours this afternoon. Lost 2 more crappie at the boat and caught a few small bass. Fished for another hour without a bite! Wind straight out of the east. Deer didn't cooperate this morning, but fishing wasn't a waste! Crappie are 10-12". Used the squirrel tail jig again.

Oh, baby! My biggest crappie yet, 13.75"! Caught on my squirrel tail jig! Even sweeter! Compared to a nice 10.5", dwarfs it. This may be about it, though. Need to start concentrating on deer. 😁

Nice. Even better catching them on your own jigs.
Our best out of Monroe this year was a 16.5” I caught. Daughter was close behind with a 16”.

The bigger ones grow some shoulders, don't they?

Not quite from the fishing hole, but yesterday I "caught" 2,200 yellow perch. Made 3 deliveries, and still have 1,500 in the truck to be delivered on Monday.
I forgot, I also delivered 200 bullfrog tadpoles.

Great day even with a stiff east wind. 18 crappie and 4 bluegills. Water was 60° and they were still in 8-9' of water. Squirrel tail jig again. Took my little buddy along today. He doesn't enjoy it in the summer because he gets too hot.

I made the decision to wrap up our boat for the year. Had really planned to continue the season a little longer, but just running out of time. Got it winterized and stored today.
Still have some winter steelhead trips planned, but will be bank fishing from here on out.

I can get feed trained yellow perch (depending on the time of the year) from 2 1/2" in length up to about 11" in length. Typical sizes are 4"-6", 6"-8" 8"-10" and maybe 10+" I am getting some Perch from a supplier that has some brood fish that are 18"-19".

I think biggest one I have seen were in the 15-16". These were all caught out of lake Michigan. All the really big fish were comparatively young that never developed mature sex organs. The big females were normally pretty old too. The years I was up there the population was lower but bigger overall size. Big perch are pretty rare in most lakes.

I have heard a lot of people say that they have caught 17"-18" Yellow Perch, but not one person can show me a picture of a yellow perch that size with a ruler or measuring stick next to it. Not a one.

Not a one. Yeah that is rare bird. Our normal big old females were around 13 inches. The rare 15-16 inches was crazy big, we probably catch 3 or 4 that size a summer. An 18 incher would have been unbelievable. True football

State denied it saying it doesn't accept fish from managed waters. Dowling Park in Hammond Indiana is managed waters (aeration system, fish feeders, etc.) but the state lists some records from there. I guess it's a matter of who you are...........
