Not bad. Was the BIG lake a bit rough? To say the least! Wind was due west, so right between the pier heads. We never even got to the start of the piers. Waves/rollers were 4-5ft at that point. Only a few BIG boats went thru. Lots of real estate for us to troll anyway. There was a group of about 25 boats jigging at the mouth of the Paw Paw. We trolled back to them and out, but never seen another fish caught anywhere. So we really lucked out. Mom stayed home with the cold and wind forecast. A great time still. The kid finally sees dad does know what to do. Just got to get all the stars aligned. 🙃😉

A Hybrid Striped Bass is coming out of the pond this evening out of the pond for dinner, my lady friend is going to catch it - she wants to learn how to fish so I thought I'd start her out on something that will pull a bit. LOL I told her that if she doesn't catch one then we will go hungry. LOL
Hopefully pictures to follow in a few hours.

That lady appears to be enjoying this fishing thing. Who cooked? Yep, she hadn't fished since she was a kid. 3 hookups and 3 pulled hooks, I hooked and handed that one. (it's weird using a spinning reel set up for a lefty) I cooked. The HSB was filleted but skin left on. Marinated in Italian dressing for an hour, put on a foil covered cookie sheet skin side down, put in the Z-Grill that was set on high (425°F). Usually 8 minutes does it, but it took 11 to get a 150°F internal temp because of the thick fillet. She also shot the 10/22 (she's left handed and left eye dominant so I had to put it in a factory stock AND had to cut about 2" off the stock). Granted it was off the bench but at 40 yds she had a pretty good group, she even called the one flyer. I think I created a monster. LOL Her rotator cuff is bothering her so I didn't want her to shoot anything heavier, but her hand to eye coordination is great.

Put the jon boat in the pond last evening and a couple buddies and myself did the annual bass removal, kept about 15 one pounders. Also kept a dozen or so nice big bluegill.
Makings for a good fish fry.

14 and 12 inch crappie. Lost another one in that range. Landed 2 cats and several small crappie. Took the big crappie and cats to the boatramp and released them. None had swallowed the hook and I had just fixed some 2 weeks ago...no need to put any more in the freezer.

How many and what did he catch yesterday? I think it was 4 or 5 cats and a largemouth. This was the biggest cat. He said it was 23" and 4.75#.
