You Forgot The Cooler. Yeah right, more like "I didn't want to clean any after we got done." LOL Nope, Luke has been cleaning everything, so that's not it. I want to try one for taste. Four hours of sleep for me, so I'm checking out. Later men.

We were back at St Joe pier again. The sheephead are biting good. I forgot the cooler, so we didnt keep any to try. Old dad caught all the fish today. Luke was skunked. We did see a carp caught that was about 15#, and one steelhead just down the line. All in all, a pretty nice family day. Nice day indeed! Congrats!

Cats were on fire near a new treetop blowdow this morning. Had one get off at the boat because this idiot forgot there was a net in the boat! Probably half of them the bluegill hook just fell out when I got them in the boat. Used redworms under bobbers set 18" deep. How do you clean your bullheads? I skin, remove head, flet meat off of ribs and rest then take out belly meat from inside of ribs.

Remove ribs from fillet.

Maybe that was mountain oysters? I like my fish fried, my steaks rare, and my oysters baked in my Thanksgiving dressing. Don't believe I would ever knowingly try mountain oysters. 🫢 I'm not near as exotic as you've heard. 😆

I should have taken a few pictures but I was too busy netting catfish. I netted and stocked 1,000# of 1#-5# channel cats yesterday in a pay lake in Noblesville. Last time I stocked it they said they were biting 4-5 hours after stocking. My wrists and forearms are complaining today!!

Luke and I fished Corey Lake in Jones, MI on Thursday. We caught about 20 total... bluegills, crappie, and perch. We had a few in the live well but put them back when we seen the bite wasn't that good. As to be expected, the boat traffic kept building, so we split right after noon. Great trip nonetheless.

Got all the stuff ready for a perch trip on Lake Michigan this weekend. Had to read up on all the regulations for the Great Lakes boating requirements. My dad always handled that in the past. Needed updated fire extinguisher, flares, air horn, ropes, fix the navigation lights, etc. A lot of that had expired since we have only fished inland lakes last so many years. We cleaned out the storage compartment where we kept tools, extras, etc. My dad had about 10 drain plugs, 20 some spools of lines, about 10 ropes, and a bunch of accumulated junk. Lol. We cleaned it up, cleaned it out, condensed, and modernized some things. I removed two fish finders we didnt use anymore. Really cleaned up on the clutter. Ready to rock and roll.

I pulled our boat out this afternoon to get ready and go out on Monroe in the morning. Of course as soon as I did we got about a 15 minute downpour. I’m sure it’s gonna get packed, so we plan to be on early and leave early. Even taking a little grill with us to cook up some hot dogs while we are out there.

Since you removed a few fish finders, you need to upgrade to one of the new live scopes. That should help improve the fish finding ability of the boat.

Hurry, you can still get one for my birthday. 🥳 We have a newer Garmin with all the bells and whistles. I know it says it has side imaging. I can't get most of it figured out, and I don't like it. About as complicated as an airplane cockpit.

I will be put there probably pulling cranks after I fail to net any shad. If I get some shad I will be dragging them behind planer boards for cats.

Them live scopes are a game changer from what I hear most people not using refer to them as “cheaters”

Randy Parker, a good friend of mine, caught this whopper while jugging. I think he was on the Ohio. He turned it loose to fight another day. Randy is about 6’ 2” and 230 pounds so use that as a comparison.
