Score one more for Team #1 LCB. It was a beautiful morning, in the woods. Saw several, shot at 2 and got 1. Brings my total up to a whoppin' 3 squills.

Add one more for Team #1 LCB. A good rain came through about 4:30am and started up again when I left the house. It quit just as I got to the woods. Have not hunted this public spot for a few years, but always had quite a few squirrels in it for its size. Didn't see bupkiss! Went down the road to a private spot that is always a good producer. Found one. Saw a few trees at each place that were being cut hard, but just no squirrels out this morning. No clue why. And, yes, he is hanging from a floor jack. 😄 Getting ready to change brake pads on the Edge and had all the stuff set out last night. Personal total is 6.

Score 4 more for team #1 LCB. Put Maddog's son down for all 4. Brings his total up to 7. I saw several, just couldn't get any shots [blame it on old age, eyesight, etc.].

Please add two more for team 3. Got to the woods around 2pm and wasn't expecting much. On my way in I found the first hen of the woods of the season. So already the day is a success. Sat down on a log and eventually noticed some cuttings falling from a nearby hickory. Squirrel acquired. 4 o'clock comes and it's time to go. As I'm walking out carrying my mushroom in one hand and my .22 in the other a squirrel runs right across my path and up a tree trunk. Stops just long enough for a shot. Second squirrel down. Never even put down my mushroom.

Add 2 more to Team #1. Chased a lot of birds and breezes this morning. Only found squirrels in two trees. 3 in one and 2 in the other, but nobody was hanging around after the first squirrels hit the ground. Personal total is now 13.

^^What chewed through that board you have them hanging from? Good shooting!! I may have time to sneak out in the morning. No clue. It is the old Dogwood Bowhunters Club structure at Glendale from way back when they used to have shoots at the property. Could have been bugs, woodpeckers, squirrels, meth heads,... hard to tell.

I did manage to get out this morning but it's probably the only time I'll get to go this season. Saw a small fast 1, probably a piney squirrel, running through the trees but I didn't get a shot. A few minutes later one was coming down a trunk but I didn't have a good rest a missed it. An hour or so later one started barking at me and after a few minutes of looking I saw him but again not a good rest and missed him. He kept barking and moved a little so I tried again and this went on for a few more shots. I know it wasn't my sights because I just checked it yesterday and I made a ragged hole with 3 shots in the bullseye. I tried finding a spot where I had a better rest but lost where he was so I moved back where I was and he quit barking and moved up the tree. I worked myself around it and looked up and saw him on a higher limb eating a nut so I aimed for his nose and shot and down he came dead. Mark 1 stubborn noisy squirrel up for team 1 LCB.

Put Team 4 down for 1. So far the CZ 452 Mannlicher is 1 for 1. All this season, seen 1. shot 1! I figure with my SHH (squirrel hunting handicap) of 10 over... You better watch out omega, I'm comin after ya!!!
