That's what I can continue on with, skurries! Seems like a super abundant year for them.

I agree, I've never seen them this close to the house before until this year.

Please add one for team 3. Had my first rabbit hunt of the year today. Got a rabbit and a bonus squirrel. This is actually the first squirrel I have ever killed with a shotgun. Makes 13 squirrels for me so far this year.

add 9 for team 3. and no this wasn't all in one day. The 2 weeks of firearm season slows down my squirrel hunting. My old dog gets 1 out of every 10 he trees.

The night I killed my mz doe, there were squirrels everywhere, near and far. So the next night I sat in the same stand with my 22, and of course, guess what? No skurries to be found. Lol. You know how it goes. I did see a couple going up into trees a ways off, all at the same time. All straight to their nests. Like somebody sounded the horn, time to get to bed all at once. Was tough leaving the woods at 5:20pm during deer season!

I'm gonna keep after them as long as the weather is decent. Late season is my favorite with no heat, leaves, bugs, or skeeters.

^^^ Ditto. They seem to be oblivious when I'm in the ladder stand, so that's where I will be sitting once I'm done with the deer.

I did shoot a skurry at 92yd iirc with my mz. It was when I had the 50cal barrel on my Savage still. 45cal Barnes Original at 2400fps. Luckily it didnt open and explode the little feller. I took it home and cooked it up. I strapped it to my deer hitch carrier and my wife about died laughing at me. Lol

Lol I just caught myself up on this thread. Hilarious!! I've taken one squirrel and one rabbit with a muzzleloader. A .50 Thunderhawk shooting .429 300 grain XTPs. Both were only about 25 yards away and both were decapitated. Got the rabbit while dragging out a little 7 pointer. The squirrel was just being annoying.

Please add three for team 3. Thanks. I have been chasing bunnies the last couple of weeks but the lack of snow and warmer temps made me rethink my strategy for today. I hunted a spot that I usually can get some squirrels in the winter months and sure enough they were active. If I were just targeting squirrels I would take the .22 but went with the shotgun today in case I had a chance at a rabbit. Sure enough I got a rabbit on the way back to the truck. Pretty good day.

Combo skurry/fishing trip for us this morning. You can guess who's behind the gun and who's behind the rod. Lol.
I seen 2 so far but no shots yet.
