I'm camping in Cloverdale, IN this week. The cicadas here are a little larger than the ones at home. They have a slightly different tone as well. Do they taste better? Ya beat me to it!!

Scrub won't eat them...he will cure the wings to inlay on a bow and quiver custom made from a downed tree that was struck by a lightning bolt. The quiver made from the buck skin of the deer killed by the falling tree.
The bodies will be used to grind into a powder he will make a die to customize his hunting jacket that he made from cottonwood fluff.

I had a thought on the seemingly lack of the noisy visitors. They live under ground for 17 year feeding off the sap from tree roots. Do they move around, or basically spend the entire time where they start? If they don't really move underground, could the massive die off of the ash trees around here have starved them or even possibly poisoned them?

They were thick at the louisville zoo today. I'm not sure I'd ever actually seen a cicada other than the shed shells up until today.
Funny how it works, my coworker lives in North West vanderburgh and he can't take a step without stepping on one of them. Yet nothing at my house in SE warrick.

They are winding down at home and work. There are dead ones all over the place at work.
