1 more for team #7. Shot two, had two on the carrier, only one made it back to the truck. Had to be the last 15 min or so of walking, backtracked a bit but it was getting hard to see. Some critter will find it surely.

Score one more from the tree stand for Team #1 LCB. Took the airgun along this morning. I didn't allow quite enough for the wind, but it did the trick anyway. Personal count is 39.

Add another 3 for this evening for Team #1 LCB. Took the Mach 2 for a walk. Should have already switched to the 17 HMR. I was tempted into taking a few shots that were apparently longer than I thought. I took the pick from this angle to show how small that one gray was even compared to another gray! Personal total is now 42.

I took my son out today to thin out some squirrels from around our tree stands. Somehow, I ended up with a limit and my young lad never had a shot. Movement was pretty slow until the sun poked out for a little while. Used my daughter's Marlin model 60. Great shooting rifle.

We definately got a lot of thinning out to do as well. Rascals are everywhere now.

Add 5 more for Team #1 LCB. Took me 45 minutes to find the squirrels and another 45 minutes to pick them off out of a single Oak. Was lucky enough to take the males first and the female last. They were chasing her hard and she would NOT leave that tree, even with me shooting. Distance was 75-80 yards on the males and I had 3 misses. They don't sit still long while chasing a hot sow! Moved in to about 40 yards and the sow came out to bark; wrong move. Made her brainless. Rifle was the Marlin 17HMR. Personal total is now 47.

I had never found one of these in my squirrels before and now 2 so far this year. The black one was from a CCI 17 HM2 and the red one I spit out of one of the fox squirrels I got this weekend with the 17 HMR shooting the Hornady ammo. I also found a blue ballistic tip from one of my Barnes bullets just inside the entrance wound of a buck I shot in 2016 I think it was.

Add 1 more for team #1 LCB. Been quite a while since I'd been out hunting limb chickens, but it was too beautiful a day not to go. Only saw 2, but nailed this well furred big ole girl. She looked so good, I took her to my local taxidermy shop, and......I'M HAVING HER MOUNTED! Haven' had anything done like that, for almost a decade. Decided that was my Christmas present to me.

5 more for Team #1 LCB. Took me 3 hours to sneak from one end of the woods to the other. Saw a few more squirrels, but most saw me from a ways off and either timbered or headed for a den hole. These five I was able to pull off sneaks to get within 35-50 yards for head shots. 17 HMR was used as I was expecting longer shots. I tried to hide the off-side head damage for the photo. The farthest right doesn't really have a head left, just some hide.😲 Personal total is now 52. Gonna try to skin and freeze these as the last 5 have already been eaten!😁

I got a piney that chewed it's way into the crawlspace and ended up between the 1st and 2nd floor.... Set 2 rat traps baited with peanut butter outside the hole it chewed in the crawlspace door and within 1/2 hr of sunrise it was dead.
Going to take both the crossbow and the 17 HMR to the tree stand in the morning.
