I better pick up the slack. Hard to do when the fish are biting and the garden is kicking out more tomatoes than I know what to do with. I will pick up the pace though. Deer blind is now poison ivy free-ish. So I am ready. Anyone seeing any honeys or sheepshead yet? Looks like some of those Honeys followed me home? Look like them to me, but again, not familiar with fall mushrooms. Used to be a tree here in the yard. First time for these coming up here. And no, I am too cheap to have the yard treated. How old is too old for Honeys? Those look past their prime. Cut the stem and see if there is a bug hole going up into the cap. That is what I run into most of the time.

Score 1 more for Team #1 LCB. Shoulda been 2, but oh well.... That would break my record of 1 a day. Brings me up to 9. Chilly morning, but beautiful in the woods.

I have felt that way many times. I usually give away my harvest if with somebody. You just got to put in the extra effort with the crock pot or pressure cooker, or canner with jars, to get a viable meal. Some guys think it's the best meat in the woods. My wifes kin folk in east KY have it on the table every single day. But they still eat the heads too, so I'm out. I’m definitely out on eating the heads as well. I have did the crockpot, oven, fried, grilled, and over the campfire. Used multiple spices, gravy, etc and just can’t say I enjoy eating it. Cant say you havent tried then. Rabbits are better! Lol

One more for team five, got me a fox squirrel finally. Was out at a spot I like to zero in my .22 and brought the shotgun just cause my buddy was there and he’s never shot my shotgun. Sure enough after about an hour of use shooting nonstop there was a rustling above us and I grabbed the shotgun from him and got a big ole tree cat to come down. Still don’t know how to get pictures on here though

Score 4 more for Team#1 LCB. All 4 were shot by maddog's son. He should have had 5, but the last one he shot got caught up in the tree. Me, nothing, saw several, but couldn't get a shot. All of them were shot between 10 am., and noon. Brings his total up to 6, so far.

1 more for Team #1 LCB. Didn't go this past weekend as I was fighting a head cold I think may have been brought on by allergies. We have had two neighborhood squirrels bringing acorns into the yard to bury for the past week. I just heard the dog whining and went to the window to see a squirrel run back to the neighbor's tree. Shot was verified by Bushnell rangefinder as 39 yards. It was laying on a low limb and rolled right out. I am in love with that Umarex Gauntlet air rifle! Pellet exited at 39 yards! Personal total is now 34.

My primos squirrel buster just came in yesterday, I think I’ll get a chance to try it out tomorrow. For now, the cats love it but the misses hates it.
