Nice! I would be more excited over the tar belly vs the banded greenhead but both in the same hunt and a huge muddy bloody pile of birds...dang. I am jealous! Great job. We hit a field and heard some geese, never flew off roost before we had to leave. Maybe next time!

4 of us managed to get 11 birds on Saturday. Lots of birds working but not too many wanted to commit. We needed it to keep snowing to help blend in the blind but that meant we kept having to brush snow off the decoys. We saw a bunch of pintail, probably the most ever for one day.

There were hundreds of geese along the Ohio river today.

Seen my first push of migrators today. Should get a good push this weekend, too bad duck season is out. Looks like we'll have to put a hurting on the sky carp.

The last 2 days there has been a good build up of Canada geese in my area, I witnessed large flocks coming in on high like B-17's returning from a bombing run. I believe these birds were coming from Michigan.
I hunted yesterday over water which is not where they want to go when they leave the roost, BUT! I managed to get a pair to fall for it, so a little redemption on my part for what has been a horrible season.

Some of us need the reminder of what a goose looks like

I have several thousand snows and blues just south of my house right now feeding in a corn field that has standing water. It's about time gentlemen.

You know to help put your gear away and help grind the birds into brats Duff we will have to get together sometime for a hunt. Always like to meet fellow waterfowl junkies.

Not seeing any waterfowl. Did see some American black vultures today in southernmost johnson county. That is a first.

bullseye: have you been hunting them this year? We have tried a few times this year and they just don't want to commit. Even small groups or pairs don't seem to be interested in coming in to our decoys. Got one opening day and that's been it.

Duff: they kind of look like HORNZILLA'S avatar but dead. Not good enough. At least show us how you cook them up! I got on to this form of cooking around December and have made several cuts of deer, beef steak, and a goose breast, AWESOME!www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np0LMwqtOVMYou cook a duck or a goose breast this way and you won't be able to kill enough to to satisfy your needs.
