I think it would be very surprising the amount of "world class" bucks that have been and are killed every year, perfectly legal and yet very very few people know about them. These hunters have no desire for social media and aren't out to impress anyone. To take this a step further. I'm quite confident some of the truly "elite" big buck killers are almost unheard from. Back in "the day", when fur prices were extremely high, the guys that showed up at the buyers towards the end of January with literally a truck load of high quality furs were not the ones sitting around talking about how good they were. They were out grinding every day and night. As soon as season ended, scouting and prepping for next fall started. Big buck killers are the same way they don't want attention they want success and they are beyond driven in achieving it. Absolutely. Also with the amount of jealousy and out right hate in this world. Who would want to post anything and sign up for that headache.

When you grow tired of your Tupperware. Buy yourself a Springfield. 😀 I've looked at the hellcats they are nice haven't pulled the trigger yet I personally prefer the XDS over the Hellcat. Own 2 XDS one with optics and one without. Tried a buddies Hellcat. Will stay with what I have.

We need to let the senate know that hunters support this bill! Not all hunters support the bill… They should. Numbers in my area are way to high.

That was short-lived. We killed 7 over a 2 week period. Just how it should be. A good one is a dead one.

We will agree to disagree on the "kill them all" people. If a farm or hunting ground is truly being managed for deer and turkeys. Then every Yote. Coon. Possum and Skunk is taken out. By whatever means. Rifle, traps, and hounds. And the only reason the Bobcat isn't on that list is because there protected unfortunately. And they need addressed here very soon. I manage my properties for wildlife. Deer and turkey populations are both great, turkeys prolly best I have seen since moved here 23 years. Not out to kill off any species. Just posted on another site how well turkeys are doing. Quality habitat has a lot to do with it. Each there own. My deer and turkeys are doing very well. Turkey number and pictures have been great this winter. But I will say if on any given day you get 6 or 7 yote pictures. You have a predator problem. I would be beside myself if I had that many in a month.

In no means a fawn either. Still one less deer in the population. Keep the yotes in check. LOL. Coyote's probably have same opinion of humans. Wonder who kills more ?? Wild animals kill to survive, we kill for sport and a little meat in freezer. Agree, like all predators populations need kept in check, but do not agree with the "kill them all" people. Not a mature buck. Looks like a 1 or 2 year old. In no means a fawn either. Still one less deer in the population. Keep the yotes in check.

For this year. I really had high hopes for this years duck season or at least some hope for a better season than the past few years but once again I WAS WRONG.This year I replaced a worn out falling apart duck blind with a new and improved blind. I gave my decoys a bit of touch up and I got my game plan together way before opening day. The evening before opener I put decoys out so that I don't have to mess with that on the morning of opener and while I was out there I was chasing Mallards out of my way. The next morning the morning of opener there was NOTHING to found. We did not have any Wood Ducks this year and no Canada Geese, NOTHING! I pulled my decoys and put them in the garage where they never moved all the rest of the season. There is something terribly wrong in this area of our flyway. I don't know if it's due to the weather, farming practices, pollution or that damn Mexican EL NINO. There is still a month or so of goose season left but I am not holding out much hope. The KANKAKEE GAME PRESERVE had a horrible season possibly their worst to date. We just came back from 3 days hunting in the Boot heal of Missouri. Very slow. No birds. We ended up killing two birds in 3 days. Other than a few specs and snows. We didn't see hardly any ducks.

Of all the things a young man wants to be when growing up I always wanted to be a CREW CHIEF on a top fuel dragster. I never wanted to race one, I wanted to be that guy that makes the final adjustment just before the car launches. This man was a hero to me. R I P DON! sports.yahoo.com/nhra-drag-racing-legend-don-124400647.html You are like my Brother in law. He has no desire to wheel a sprint car. As I strap into one I never fully understand his love to tinker with the car. And have no desire to wheel that beast. Guess it works out for the both of us. R.I.P. Don

Have the rest of the year off and plan on hunting waterfowl a few days a week. Goose Pond was decent yesterday, shot 2 hen mallards and a hen wigeon. Wasn’t really in the right spot for where they wanted to be but it was my first go there. Went back today and the whole place was frozen over. There’s a lot of specks and snows making their way in now I live a few miles from G.P. We hunt it some. I have been hearing and seeing more birds last few days. Things are starting to pick up.

Several years ago my Dad had a young bird dog that locked up on point. We walked in and there was a nice set of sheds. It was the first Saturday of December.

He was definitely a stud. Absolutely a buck of a lifetime. Did he have any history with him? Oh yes. He was a movie star for the camera. We had numerous pictures of him. He became our number one hitlister. Really put a lot of effort into him in archery season. We both had multiple encounters with him before my son took him first day of firearms season. He definitely was a resident of my farm.

My sons was a crazy nontypical rack. Could probably be scored 5 times with 5 different scores. I saw your Son's buck at the taxidermist shop. Very few bucks would even come close to that mass! He was definitely a stud.

My deer was scored by three guys of the Big Buck Ohio group. My rack was straight forward with no questionable points so two guys did most of the scoring. Good enough for me. Cost was just my time and gas. My sons was a crazy nontypical rack. Could probably be scored 5 times with 5 different scores.

A deer doesn't have to be panel scored for B.C. My sons deer from last year grossed over 200. Unfortunately with deductions it missed it by less than a inch from making book for untypical. I think he was told then it could be brought up for a panel score maybe. To see if everyone agreed on score. But that was more money because each scorer was paid then. Do not hold me to all of this. Either way my son decided to just hang him on the wall and except the score. I think for state and all time records they normally panel score. Dustin Huff's buck was scored prior to drying period by a B&C scorer, and then again by 2 B&C scorers after drying period. (The later scored it 2"ish more than original scorer.) It was never officially panel scored but B&C accepted the second scoring results. I was always under assumption that all B&C entered deer needed panel scored, but that isn't the case. My sons was scored by a B.C. scorer. He was entered into Hoosier book. But missed B.C. by less than a inch. So he was told he could be score again for B.C. book if he wanted. But at a cost to score again. He didn't care to do it again and hung him on the wall. His taxidermists talked him into getting him scored in the first place.

There's a big difference between a living food plot as compared to dumping corn and/or deer chow in a feeder (or on the ground). If CWD is in Indiana already, IMO that is just another good reason to quit feeding in stationary feeders state wide. Finally, healthy deer will likely survive without supplemental feeding so in your opinion, what's really the point of dumping bagged deer food for them to eat? Wonder how any deer survived for all these years without special feeding. Special trees. Special food plots and everything that is done? We are headed down a rabbit hole with the horn porn home grown deer.
