I am down in south west Indiana, ducks are few and far between, we have locals, but no migrators that I have noticed yet. Looks like it will be late migration this year with this warm weather. The birds have no reason to move, to warm.

We went, there was snow, jumped 2 birds, 1 was a rooster, but that was it. Did not hunt all day, had other plans and needed to get back home. Overall , pretty sweet place up there.

Ok, due to back problems, I have been forced to hunt out of ground blind. I have a compound bow, but not a good set up for me with a compound bow. So I shot Woodies 10 point cross point, loved it. But on a tight budget, so looking for a good crossbow under $500.00, I know that limits me, but to start off with one, I want to keep the price down. So looked at wicked ridge, made by 10 point, and also looked at Barnett, they seem to have good reviews. So I need help from you guys, always get straight up answers and honest ones from everyone on here. So any help would be great. I would like one with a good scope, camo, and would like to have the rachet draw cords. but can add later, arrows and tips. Thanks for any help Brian

Woody, That is so awesome. I know what a great feeling you get when handing out meals to the less fortunate. I did that for a couple of years, and loved doing it. That is so awesome Woody, thanks for sharing.

To be honest, I use raccoon sent. Even when I was using my climber, I just sprayed some coon spray below and behind the tree I was in, and always covered my scent. Now that I hunt out of a ground blind, I still use the coon spray, it is very natural for any woods, and covers pretty good I think. and the deer seem to come right in to my deer scent. It works great for mwe, so I keep using it.

I agree, sometimes change is good, I was not in favor of it at first, but now that I have to hunt out of a ground blind, and hunted on public property, I felt pretty safe with me and my son in there, the one I got came with safety pins and liked it, plus you can see where some blind is at so you are not shooting that direction. I think it was a good law to impose . Like I said, public ground is a must, and I know guys do not use it on private, but it could save your live after using the ground blind for the first time.

There was a guy hunting last sunday behind me that put his ground blind up that had no hunter orange, now it was on private property, but I know he could see mine, but he just sat within 100 yds of me. Oh well, good thing I did not need to shoot behind me at a deer or I would not have seen the blind there. I think it is a good law, I know a lot oopose it, but even on private, you still may get un wanted guest and they may shoot your direction.

So I will try and get a sound file going on my grunt call. To move the o-ring, it is very simple, pull the call apart,it is like a duck or goose call, and move the o-ring on the soundboard. and put call back together. Maybe 10 seconds . But I will get a video out this weekend on my call and sound. And the website is still valid. www.bruiserbuckgamecalls.comBrian

Well, I must say, I was only able to get out for gun season, and shot the small buck that I grunted in. But I have not deer hunted in 3 years due to my back, so I was very happy to shoot my small 6 point buck on public property out of my ground blind. Sorry, do not have the chance to see bigger bucks on property I can access on. But if I did, I would wait on nice bucks.
