While trapper Dave is probably correct... I agree with ms660 that our laws really are that simple. It's only because we as a nation have diluted the contstitution that we have handed out "unconstitutional" provisions for certain groups of people. Yet I still say NO ONE is above the law! (Although like I say "technically" our laws today DO allow for unlawful searches of property, they were never intended when the constitution was written) I guess as a free American if I feel my constitutional rights are being violated I can react however I feel I'm justified though a court TODAY would probably argue our laws are different today than they were in 1776.

I spoke to the deer biologist a few weeks ago he said there's a huge deer population problem in the city of Bloomington.

My prayers go out to a family without their father and to a son that has to carry the guilt of killing his own father the rest of his life. How precious and how fragile our lives are. This story makes me thankful for my dad.

Have your wife bake them an apple pie. Get to know your neighbors and be peaceful. Have that conversation about the stand once you've been cordial and they see it. It may be difficult but it's better to make peace than to start war.

Interesting topic. I hope to never see trespassers or co's on my property without my prior knowledge!

Coleman Propane stove. I attach to a big propane tank. Traditional propane waffle heaters kick out a ton of noise not to mention the fumes will make you drowsy. This burner kicks out blue flame instead so you have 1/4 the noise and no fumes. See this on Amazon: a.co/4UtuhlY

Im sure he would for murder but he might not for tying a horse to a tree on a public highway in Bay Village, Ohio. Both are against the law. You made me chuckle on that one swilk.

That's what this post is about anyways, not crazy crimes like murder. That's common sense you call 911 immediately!

No I absolutely would not ever. My tax dollars pay for law enforcement. Until I'm given a badge I have no desire to police anyone. If there's a situation on my property it will get taken care of, I'll handle it. Why is it everybody wants to police everybody else these days? If you're in the woods with poachers and illegal hunters I'd find a new spot! Again if somebody does something petty like takes off their hat and jacket when they get inside their elevated fully heated hunting blind on their own 1,000 acre property, #1 I don't care #2 I'm going to mind my own business!

Ya I disagree too. If someone's doing something wrong let them get caught. Never wish evil on someone else that's bad karma

The deer don't care what language a hunter speaks or how well they speak it. As a courtesy to our fellow hunters who read and enjoy these posts I recommend if somebody writes something on here that isn't perfect English, ignore it. The only person entertained is the one bugging the other about their grammar. The rest of us don't care, so quit bugging people, it's just annoying to everybody else. It reminds me of my younger brother, he would always pester me growing up. On here it's just a waste of typing, that's what Facebook is for.

I'm not against wearing orange. But I don't believe 1 life was saved from wearing an orange cap while sitting in the tree stand. Not ONE. If you're out walking then yes I believe it is a very good idea to wear orange so all the multitudes of guys slinging bullets at their fellow hunters don't get you on accident. I agree with common sense. I agree with the laws of my state. I agree if you don't know what you're shooting at don't shoot at it. And I agree guys don't shoot up into a tree, deer can't climb! Not ONE life was saved from wearing orange in the tree this year. But bless every citizen for obeying the law, I always wear my faithful orange cap even though I wish we could get rid of the thing once I'm in my stand. And be sure to practice common sense 100% of the time. Common sense has saved millions of lives today alone!

A couple things: 1. Harness safety is about 400 times more important than wearing hunter orange in the stand. I've never heard of anyone being shot in the stand, I've had 3 people I know personally fall from stands. Completely different issues. Let me explain further. Legally, hunters can be in deer stands for a greater amount of time. Oct. 1st- Jan. 1st unless you also hunt urban beginning the 15th of Sept. Gun season is a short 15 days. Turkey hunters shoot each other not with rifles, but with birdshot from close range. 99% of the time they're shooting birds on the ground, so again your chances of being in a tree are almost zero. Let me clarify: you are 400 times more likely to fall out of a tree and break your back or perish than you are to be hit by a stray Rifle bullet in the 15 days of gun season by a tiny 30 caliber bullet that will almost 100% of the time get deflected by any small branch or multitude of trees before finding your 6 foot frame 20 feet high off the ground, and on public land it wouldn't even be from a HPR. So let's put the notion to rest that the harness safety issue and the wearing of an orange ball cap while in a tree stand are the same thing. They're not!

I like what Lawrence county hunter recommended. Mossberg Patriot= gorgeous gun! If I had the pick between savage and ruger I would get a Savage Axis 2 with Accu trigger, get that trigger adjusted to a nice crisp 3lb pull. I'd get a $200 vortex diamondback 50mm scope. Beautiful setup!!!!! But so is that Mossberg patriot with that beautiful wood stock
