Not today fellas. Planning on putting in a good effort tomorrow, I am not sitting in freezing rain bowhunting this time of year. Depending on the road conditions, I am hoping to make my first trip to Cabela's in Noblesville. I made it to Cabela's. I ended up getting 2 pairs of wool socks for around $12 each. Pretty decent place with plenty of everything.... except bargains! In my opinion, but then again my wife says she has to oil me every morning because I am so tight. Gonna try to get out tomorrow morning.

Other than vacation days, I have missed 0 days this year. If I make it the rest of the week, that will make 20 consecutive years perfect attendance.

After the year we have all experienced,we should all be thankful for many things. Even with "restrictions" I urge you all to make the most of the Holiday season. Don't be a Scrooge and gripe about visiting family - DO IT! I learned nearly 20 years ago that sitting in a house full of people, even if you don't see eye to eye with some of them, isn't bad. Believe me,all to soon your Holiday get together will include standing in a cold field laying plastic flowers beside a rock with letters written on it. Hold your loved ones close and remember the REASON FOR THE SEASON! Merry Christmas fellow outdoorsmen.

I woke up to go but that wind was still whipping around pretty darn good. Never had much luck in wind, although I’ll sit in it during pre-rut and rut. Today I just laid back in bed. Same here.

You guys know what is even better than tagging s good buck first thing opening morning? Tagging one on the last evening! All set up and hoping for action. Either way, it's been nice taking a break from the real world. Shoot straight! You know what is better than tagging a good buck on the last evening of muzzleloader season? Tagging one in late archery after Christmas! LOL, gotta take it in stride.

Slow here too. But I am off through end of season on January 3rd so I will be doing everyday sets until then. I really admire your drive and perseverance. You definitely put the time in! I hope you kill a good one!

I have read the rules and I have not come up with a conclusive answer. Question: If I am bow hunting from December 26th until the end of season, I am required to wear orange in the counties that have the special late season. Now, what if I am in a county that had the season, but the public property I am hunting doesn't have the special season? Obviously, I will call the DNR for clarification, but what do you think?

Even though my detractors will have a field day with this, oh well, here I go...drove all the way to Putnam County, got hand warmers out and activated, rubber boots on, sweatshirt and hunting parka on, just about to head out to the spot to hunt, and see that my muzzleloader is still sitting back in the garage at home. This season just won`t relent with the trials and tribulations. My buddy said come back tomorrow. I don`t typically hunt afternoons the day before I have to be at work the next day, because I get up so early for work and it would be difficult to track, gut, drag and get a deer to the processor and make it to work the next morning. But with it being the last day of muzzleloader...I guess that`s what PTO is for...ok guys, go ahead, flame away on my misfortune, I can take it. I have certainly never pulled a stunt like that. ( Insert huge eye roll)

I saw a Savage Axis 350 Legend with a Bushnell scope and heavy barrel at Walmart for $350. I'm wanting a 350 Legend and that sounds like a good price to me. Any opinions?

The cleaner the metal around where you will be welding the easier it is to do a good weld. A flapper wheel on your grinder is your friend. Or even better,a stainless wire wheel.

If I were to get a mig, where would I get the gas? I see empty bottles for sale and I know work gets them on a delivery service but where do you guys get them for the home use? If you don't have much welding experience, I would suggest getting gas (Argon mix), it's much easier to get nicer looking welds for a beginner. Be advised, flux cored wire is EXPENSIVE!
