9 deer total in stand. 9 hunts, gave passes to same 3 doe/antlerless family several different times. A different trio I took 1 small doe early archery. I've seen 2 bucks total. Ive hunted only two stands and they are a little over a mile apart. The East wind stand I've only sat twice this year. Had 1 doe run through without ever stopping. I'm starting to not like east winds while deer hunting after today. East winds have never treated me well for anything.

Must not be very many people at the park hunts. Usually there’s a separate thread for just those and it gets going pretty quickly, but hardly anything for reports so far. A lot of shooting around me at McCormicks creek. Much rather be hunting brown county. Hopefully they’ll have the hunt next year.

A buddy and me hunted my family’s ground last week and saw a few good bucks. I told my son and he said he wanted to wait for a nice one this year. Well this morning we had a little fork horn walk by at daybreak. I asked what he thought and he said no, not shooting it. 7:40 I grunted a few times and let out a snort wheeze. 7:45 his buck was trying to get downwind of us. He shot him at 45-50 yards. He ran maybe 30 and piled up. I couldn’t be any prouder of him. It’s a day I’ll never forget. If anyone could give me a tip on posting a few pics it would be greatly appreciated.

I drew the early McCormicks state park hunt. Never hunted it before. It is closest for me since brown county isn’t hunting. Any pointers from those that have hunted it?

The only way to really reduce the coyote population is the bring back Grey Wolves. But that won't happen. Meanwhile the Coyotes will keep the Red Fox Population low or cause them to go extinct. I don’t agree. In a small area they can be trapped hard and if kept after year after year you can control the coyote population. But guys that trap them hard can only cover so much ground. Plus when the coyote market is down, guys aren’t gonna go after them hard.

Last grey I caught was in 98’ or 99’. Haven’t seen one since then.

Nice red. I can’t find a red this year. Plenty of coyotes around tho.

A lot of shooting here. My 8 yr old boy shot his second deer ever 10 minutes after shooting light. A 4 pointer. I’m a proud daddy for sure. Walked him back to house and came back. I’ll sit the rest of the day. Don’t really care if I see anything or not.

I’m bring my boy all weekend. After he shoots one I’ll just use his rifle. It’s a youth model savage .243

I got a buck down at brown county. Had 15 or so deer come past me before light. Have only seen 4 after daylight and they’ve all been bucks.

Up the tree and ready to roll at brown county. Let’s hope they get pushed my way like usual. Good luck. I’m in the park as well. Has a buck digging a doe for the last 15 min. Hopefully they stay close til daylight.

I don’t hunt them but do trap a few. Caught 19 the first week of trapping season. If I can get the deer tags out of the way I’ll get back to it.

Just had a young ten cruise by. Watched him thrash a tree and hit a scrape. He seemed to be on a mission
