I am sitting in my stand, and my mind is always turning over and over about random things. And i just realized that I have only seen 3 deer since opening day. I saw 6 on opening morning and shot a doe opening evening. But seriously only 3 deer seen since! Just throwing this out there for comparisons sake. Who else hasn't seen much,or is it just my area??

I’ve only saw 12 deer from stand all year long. Way in the opposite spectrum from last season. Gotta take the bad years with the good I guess. It stays this way I’m gonna have to buy ground beef and I’m really not wanting to do that.

Even though I killed a really nice buck last Saturday (second Saturday of gun season) I notice the same thing. 1 SMALL doe opening weekend (about 20 hours in the stand). Monday, McCormick's Creek - climbed down at 12:30 - I saw ZERO! Last Saturday,3 deer including the one I killed, very little shooting.

Last deer I saw was the last day of bow season and that was a yearling doe. 18 deer total for year. Last year I saw 35 bucks before I took one. But my area in Clark was hit hard with EHD. It is what it is.

It is what it is. Sorry to hear that.. Pockets of EHD can be devastating. BTDT.. Deer are resilient and they bounce back within a few years.

I have seen less than 10, but I can hear them walking by in the creek bottoms. I need to make some adjustments in my setup so I can actually see. The deer are definitely there! There is tons of sign everywhere and no one else hunts the area.

I'll be honest, I think fewer hunters hurt more properties than most people will admit.
On the farm I hunt we truly are dependent upon people hunting the large tracts of woods around us. I think a bunch of places are the same. I also believe the continued increase usage of food plots and mineral sites on big properties will only make things worse for the small property hunters. Especially those who can not compete with the "supplemental" programs.
The thing I always hear is the problem with baiting seems to be coming without "baiting" and the guy with the biggest pocketbook is winning.

9 deer total in stand. 9 hunts, gave passes to same 3 doe/antlerless family several different times. A different trio I took 1 small doe early archery. I've seen 2 bucks total. Ive hunted only two stands and they are a little over a mile apart. The East wind stand I've only sat twice this year. Had 1 doe run through without ever stopping.
I'm starting to not like east winds while deer hunting after today.

But but..."I don't hunt over it"....biggest load of horse hocky I get so sick of it. The IDNR need to instruct uniform approach to handling baiting/supplemental sites....it is getting insanely different throughout the state and even ICO's I know wish the code was more point blank about it.

I personally want to see either a YES or NO all the time for everyone, or a date range limit for everyone.
