Given that I've already got a smart phone and an iPad, it seems totally pointless to buy yet another tablet device just to view trail camera pictures. But I've looked into the SD card reader cables for the iPad and they get bad reviews and are ridiculously priced ($30 for the Apple brand one).
Does anybody have a recommendation for a relatively inexpensive option? I'll admit to having dragged a laptop into the field on more than one occasion last season just because I was too impatient to wait until I got back to the car to see what had come by over the last while...and I really don't want to do that again this year.

So I'm having hunting season withdrawal and looking at my trail cam pics from this past season. I think these were the two best bucks that showed up on my cameras. Can't decide which one I'd rather have taken...the 10's impressive, but I just love this 8. Nothing better to do on a cold February night than set up a meaningless poll on a forum, right? So which of the two would you prefer?

So I'm a novice hunter. Just my second season back into hunting after taking 8 or 10 years off, and I really didn't know what I was doing in my teenage years when I hunted for the first times...so let's just say I have a lot to learn. This was my first year using trail cams. I have the huge privilege of access to an outstanding piece of hunting property in Jefferson County, and at different times I had as many as 3 cameras set up in different spots within the 80 acres or so of the property that I hunt.
I was blown away by the total number (and quality) of different bucks that showed up on the cameras. I guess I knew that deer moved, but I had the sense that they mostly stayed within a small area. I've not carefully compared the photos enough to be sure, but I'd say over the past 3 months of trail cam photos, there were at least 15 different bucks on the property, with at least 5 of them respectable 8 pts or bigger.
How typical is that variety/quantity of bucks from one hunting property?

I got picked for Deer Creek FWA and the first Ft Harrison hunt. I'm probably not going to be able to take off enough days from work to hunt all days at both, but I'll see what I can work out. Super-excited that I got picked for the Rookery at Harrison. I scouted there last year but didn't hunt it, and I really liked what I saw...
