So I'm a novice hunter. Just my second season back into hunting after taking 8 or 10 years off, and I really didn't know what I was doing in my teenage years when I hunted for the first times...so let's just say I have a lot to learn. This was my first year using trail cams. I have the huge privilege of access to an outstanding piece of hunting property in Jefferson County, and at different times I had as many as 3 cameras set up in different spots within the 80 acres or so of the property that I hunt.
I was blown away by the total number (and quality) of different bucks that showed up on the cameras. I guess I knew that deer moved, but I had the sense that they mostly stayed within a small area. I've not carefully compared the photos enough to be sure, but I'd say over the past 3 months of trail cam photos, there were at least 15 different bucks on the property, with at least 5 of them respectable 8 pts or bigger.
How typical is that variety/quantity of bucks from one hunting property?

I had a good number of bucks this archery season compared to the last 3 years or so. You just never know season to season

I had about the same number of bucks as most year throughout summer. The number of more mature deer was higher than usual though.

This year with my camera during the summer I consistently got pictures of 6 bucks, the most since I started using a camera in 4 years. I know one yearling was shot on a neighbor's property. (My boys coon hunt with another neighbor and saw it laying) One buck I shot during gun season. So hoping when I can get a salt block out when season ends that 4 are left. (Not bad for a 20 acre plot)

Pretty typical for summertime..come middle September they'll vacate the property..normally once they get hard horn and lose velvet. I get many bucks each summer, most good quality, or good up and comers...just remember those summer bucks will likely be back come late season after the rut...at least that's been my experience. So if you see a good one on camera in the summer, hold out, good chance he will be back around come December.

I usually end up with 10-15 different bucks on camera for the year. Of those, probably 60% are yearlings while the rest are 2.5 or older. I normally end up with 2 to 3 "shooters" on camera. This year was pretty much typical.
