So I'm having hunting season withdrawal and looking at my trail cam pics from this past season. I think these were the two best bucks that showed up on my cameras. Can't decide which one I'd rather have taken...the 10's impressive, but I just love this 8. Nothing better to do on a cold February night than set up a meaningless poll on a forum, right? So which of the two would you prefer?

Buck in second pic looks older. Buck In first pic could be an absolute monster next year if it lived through season.
I would shoot the first one of them that offered a shot, no doubt, and without thinking twice.

A bird in the hand better than 2 in the bush. I like either I'll take both

Both are excellent deer. Standing side by side I'd take the eight. I love mass and he has it.
Thanks and good luck on either one of this next season..

2nd one is older so I'd go with him.....he also looks familiar, if you hunt the northern part of the state I'd be curious to hear where as I believe it may be a buck we have on camera as well.

I would shoot the 10 because he looks fatter and tastier but if I had to carry a deer a long way I would shoot the 8 because he is lighter.

Either, the size and rack doesn't matter to me. First 1 I got a shot at would be down.

Absolutely no offense but were you looking at the same deer? The 8's (second picture) body is much bigger than the small framed body of the 10 (first picture)...maybe I need my eyes checked though.

I can't count. I was referring to the deer in the second picture. Shows how just how important that rack is to me, lol.

I'm going with 10 point myself. I have killed over a dozen 120-140 inch 8 pt's and would prefer the later. With that said I killed another mid 120's 8 pt this season. Sometime's it's just a matter of what mother nature offer's ya.

Depends on the pressure on your property. If you know the 10 may not make it another year in the area it might as well be you shooting it. If you can let it walk for a year it will be a monster. The 8 is a pig and older deer ready for harvest no brainer there.

First one by me will buy it if I am hunting a super high hunter pressure area the 10 would be better in a year but he will at this point by default likely score higher as if that mattered .In the perfect world kill the 8 and walk away kill the 10 next year but unfortunately in the real world of dozens of hunters per sq mile and small properties where I hunt as state 1st one gets a hole in him.

Good input, all! I never ultimately had a chance at either this year. Saw a couple 9/10 pt bucks over the course of the season, but not in shooting range in the right season, and I don't think that either was this ten pointer. Hopeful that both of these and their friends will be around next year! Given the number of good bucks I saw on camera this year, am excited to do some shed hunting here soon...
