Always carry especially in the woods. We have property that doesn’t get visited often and we have found pot growing on there two separate occasions. We used to have an issue with trespassers hunting out there as well. When I first started to hunt I used to do a lot of ground hunting and had an encounter with a few dogs running around the woods. It was scary at first but once the dogs realized I was a person they started wagging their tails and wouldn’t leave me alone. I rarely visit our farm without carrying.

About an hour north of Fort Wayne. It was really nice there. Tons of deer sign. Never hunted public land before but has me wanting to try it out sometime next year. That might be something to check out. I usually don't go north of Washington St in Indy, actually north of County Line in Greenwood. Are you too young to know not to mess with Mongo? Lol it went right over my head. Are you referring g to blazing saddles?

This is wonderful!!! So happy you go to go. I've never shot one, but hope to someday. Where in the world is Mongo. I met a horse once who told me to stay away from Mongo. About an hour north of Fort Wayne. It was really nice there. Tons of deer sign. Never hunted public land before but has me wanting to try it out sometime next year.

Yea I've heard stories about my dad and grandpa hunting them. Doing this made me wish I could just go out to our farm and it like they did

Been taking my best friend hunting for two years. Sold him my old bow and had him helping with our property. He finally saw his first deer from the stand today. He made the 10 yd shot and is officially hooked!

As mentioned before, getting sick right now. Yesterday my nose was like a faucet that wouldn't turn off. Before I left this morning I asked my girlfriend if I could take one of her hankies out to the farm with me. This thing is a game changer. I legit think I'm going to start carrying a handkerchief with me regularly. Anyone else on her use one? After you get over the gross factor, it's so handy! And it doesn't hurt my nose at all.

Getting sick while on my hunting vacation....got the sniffles and a sore throats. Sticking it out today and tomorrow in hopes of getting it done before gun season rolls in. Also gotta squeeze voting into today's schedule. Should be a good day with a light rain in the forecast. Got a blind we set up a few months ago I haven't sat yet so might end up out there for the afternoon hunt.

Sounds like today may be your day. One can hope.. But I know it can go from feast to famine in the snap of a finger...and visa versa... So true. Your entire season can change with the snap of a twig. I think that's part of the thing that's hooked me about hunting.

Still no chasing in blackford that I've seen. Yet to see a buck all season still but covered in does. Just a matter of time before it breaks loose hopefully

Well decided to do a dark to dark sit after the morning I had and man has it slowed down. Hoping they get moving closer to dark. This warm weather is killllling me. Wish I would have snuck a nap in because I'm whipped lol Its amazing how it can just drain you Right!?! I always forget how tiring sitting in one spot for 12 hours can be. Doesn't sound hard until you actually do it.

Just curious seen in the picture your off colored fletching was pointing down when knocked. I've always heard it should be facing up in a whisker biscuit rest. Does anyone know the correct way or does it even matter? I shoot my with fletching up. Also thought today was going to be a great day. The weather is perfect and beautiful to be out but havnt seen even a squirrel. You're right. The reason the cock vane should be up in a whisker biscuit is because the black whiskers are stiffer than the brown. I've always shot with it down and haven't had any issues. Honestly before he mentioned it I've never even thought about it. Always shot this way and never had any issues with accuracy. Now I'm intrigued as well lol
