How do you guys think it will be in the morning? It is supposed to be pretty windy and pretty warm around Blackford tomorrow and I have some homework that I need to get caught up on so I'm torn on whether I should give it a go tomorrow or just have a day at Club Braken (Ball State Library )

Well I had an interesting morning in the woods today. Although I have a few stands hung in my woods, I often times will just take a little chair to the woods with me, find a place I like, and post up for the morning. I have actually had a lot of success doing this in the past and have killed my last two deer doing this. Well this morning I set up in a little thicket on my property that has a bunch of random wheat growing in it. Not sure where the wheat came from but I'm not mad about it. It was around 8:30 when things got interesting. You see there is always one problem I have when I pick out a place to sit down is and that is that the deer never seem to come down the paths that I expect them to and this morning was no different. Each year we have a big dirtbike race that goes through my property and the deer absolutely love using the trails from the race. I was posted up at an intersection that was littered with tracks so I was expect the deer to be coming down these. As I'm sitting there waiting to see something I hear something off to my right. I look over to see what appears to be a good looking 8 pointer. I get situated to where I'll be able to take a good shot when he comes into my lane and about that time he turns and looks at me....His entire right antler was missing! Not only that but he had managed to sneak to within 10 yards of me and saw me and trotted towards the creek about 30 yards. He didn't spook too bad and hung around for about 10 more minutes but man was I disappointed when I saw he was missing that right side...On a positive note though, makes me wonder if he was fighting someone and if that's how it got knocked off...and if so, where is that monster hiding Here is a pic of where I ended up sitting this morning...was pretty neat with the fog hanging around early into the morning

Used to see an albino doe in a field in northern Blackford...I don't go out there much anymore so I'm not sure if shes still around or not...I drive past an elk farm on my way to my woods that has a few albino elk though...really neat to see them when theyre close to the road

alright I have always wondered about that...I've seen some big trees rubbed as well but havent stumbled acrossed any yet this year...but man are they tearing up the saplings at my place this year! I hunt around 70 acres and lately I've been hunting the northern part of the property. I decided to check out the back last week and was shocked by all the rubs on my walk out...Now I am torn on which stand to hunt!

ok...if its false does that mean that big bucks will make rubs on smaller trees as well? I have seen a TON of smaller trees just torn to pieces in my woods
