Hopefully they are busy dragging it by now! Sorry, we got busy getting busy. We didn`t wait an hour to go look, we only wailed 15 minutes and took up the trail. My buddy drove us on his golf cart to a certain section of the tree line then we slipped into the woods and crossed over to a ridge so that the deer would hopefully come in in front of us, with the wind blowing from them to us. We were sitting on the ground in our turkey seats. He thinks we had been sitting 1o minutes, I thought maybe 15 minutes and a group pf 4 does showed up, 35-40 yards away, and the lead doe was a good one. I was already on her, shot, and she made a big loop, running ahead then circling back the way she came. My buddy said he saw blood on her shoulder. I reloaded, and we only waited 15 minutes and got up to go look for her. She didn`t go 70 yards, and we found her at the bottom of the ravine. At this point, it was only just after 4 PM. I`ll try to remember how to post pictures either tonight or tomorrow. I got her gutted, we drug her to the golf cart and got her back to my truck at my buddy`s place. I got her to the processor, headed home through Avon, took the truck through Crew Car Wash, filled up the gas tank, got Culvers for my wife and I, and now I`ve got to get showered and ready to get up at 3:30 am to work a 12 hour shift at the hospital. What a great hunt, and a way to finally put some positivity on what has been a very difficult season. What a great buddy I have, to make it his personal mission to make sure I got a deer, and what good, good friends here, to even care about my season and how I did. Thank you all, it`s humbling, and it`s so much appreciated. Congratulations on grinding it out and being successful!! That’s a good friend you have there for sure!!

Had to put our basset hound down today..he was 10 yrs old. He had started losing weight so we took him to the vet. He was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease where his white blood cells were attacking his red blood cells and it was killing his liver. We tried some meds to snap him out of it, but he continued downhill fast. We couldn’t stand to let him suffer any longer!! 2020...the gift that just keeps giving!!

Hunt the evenings on a food source is the best bet, but I wouldn’t overlook hunting mornings with bucks searching for the late estrous does!!

I don't lower my standards, but, unlike when people say "don't shoot a buck on the last day that you wouldn't shoot on the first day". My motto is "don't pass up a buck on the first day that you WOULD shoot on the last day". Either way, I take it in stride, this is season # 35 for me and deer hunting is my escape. I haven't pulled the trigger or drawn my bow at anything. I have been on vacation the entire gun season and a break from the real world is a trophy to me! Our story’s are pretty similar...I too..have been off for the last 3 weeks. Hunted everyday.

I am obviously hunting in the wrong season. Got a gobbler just gobbling his head off in the woods next to me. Probably 15 times already. Lol Best sound ever to come from a woods!!

I'd hop back in the stand tomorrow morning. You KNOW the deer are there..... Do deer typically come back the day after being spooked? They definitely didn't see me after I shot. Ran about 20 yards and stopped to look back, then fast walked over the hill. Wasn't sure if they'd be too spooked to return this evening (or next morning for that matter). They’ll be back and quite possibly tonight!!

Stayed in bed this morning. I looked at the forecast last night and it said 100% rain from 4-9 AM, then the chances taper off the rest of the day. It seems like it rains here at 15%. LOL! I did the same...headed out this afternoon.
