Wonder if the “antlerless license” price will remain the same...First “antlerless license” $24...Second and Additional Resident “antlerless license” License only $15. Free for me. Me too...😉

Same thing with Potato Creek. It's already taking over. I talked to the lady there and volunteered my time to help them spray it. Never got a phone call. From what I've read spraying just doesn't work, or at least not enough. Mini excavator with a mechanical thumb over the winter and a gigantic burn pile does the trick though. There’s ways to get rid of it, but as in anything...it costs money that the State will claim they don’t have!!

It’s getting completely out of control and has been for several years!! I might quit putting in for that hunt if they don’t get something done soon. Most of the parks are getting taken over by autumn olive or whatever the stuff is actually called. The stuff is just terribly hard to kill off and we just don't have enough staff to remove it. I’ve had several conversations with the staff at Clifty about that autumn olive. It’s definitely unfortunate that they’re under staffed making it hard to eradicate it. I’ve been hunting that park for around 15 years and the changes I’ve seen back in those woods is sickening!! It won’t be long and that park will be a complete mess!

Thanks buddy, but I put in for my normal spot down at Clifty Falls! Good luck this season!! My wife and I were just down there this past Saturday through Monday for our anniversary. That under story is so thick it’s gotta be hard to hunt that place. Did see two big toms though. It’s getting completely out of control and has been for several years!! I might quit putting in for that hunt if they don’t get something done soon.

We’ve had turkeys around our house pretty much every spring, but very rarely get close to or on our land. Two springs ago before season had two strutters and two hens by our barn and that was the first and only time I’ve saw them in the spring. I’ve been calling to one off and on this spring that’s across our woods and behind a neighbors house. Went outside late this morning while taking a break from work and he was just gobbling away. I got my call and was just letting him have it. Then went back in to work. I walked out on the deck for lunch and he gobbled behind the house. I got my gun, threw on some camo, grabbed a mouth call, and snuck down the hill. He was still gobbling but moving away. I got behind one tree and then was able to sneak about twenty more yards to another as I knew he was over the ridge. I called a few times and knew he was moving my way. I’m just standing behind a large tree and I see him cutting from right to left. He went behind a tree, I clicked safety off and got ready, but I never saw him come out the other side. Then I heard putting about ten yards to my left. Somehow he made it through without me seeing him. I was able to swing, get on him, and let er rip just as he was heading down the hill. Of course then came the flopping another 25 yards down the hill as I was trying to catch up to him. Needless to say this is the first longbeard I’ve killed on our property and it was on lunch from work. Took me a total of 22 minutes to shoot him and get back to the house. That’s freaking awesome...Congratulations man!!

Had a hen stroll past earlier. The gobbler is way off on the neighbor’s still.
