anybody know any area in the hnf around st. Croix to camp and hunt. kinda lost out on deer camp this year due to a buddies family hunting and he can't have anymore guests. rules of the club. I'm not mad. Indian Celina recreation area is just west of St. Croix. Reduced rates this time if year. www.fs.usda.gov/activity/hoosier/recreation/camping-cabinsthankyou... ill check it out ... im not asking for any hunting spots.. me and the boy can sleep in my vehicle... ive got or know a bunch of places that I hunt.. just the first time ive had to find a place to set up a base camp.. I don't care if its a pull off that I can legally set up. probably a one time thing.. this year a buddy has filled his guest list in the club with family. no worries. thankyou for any information. like I said not looking for any spots to hunt already have those. thankyou again

took my 11yo to shoot his new birthday present today. first time he's ever shot a gun bigger than my 22 pistol. he shocked me at how well he shot. every shot he took was on paper. once we zeroed it he was cutting holes. by the way it's a 44 mag cva hunter paired with a 3x9x40 Simmons. shooting Hornadys. I'm a proud dad right now. wish I knew how to post a pic of paper

We were planning on going out, but I think we are gonna wait. Dad's place is usually better from the end of October on any how. Plus it'll give us more practice time with the cross bow and .44 mag. what kinda scope if one at all are you using.. i just bought my son one the cva hunter. hope its a good one. i got to pick up some ammo also

Let's make em $500. I've always pushed for reciprocal .. NRs pay the same as NRs do in their state.. this is great... this forum is the biggest reason I don't subscribe to any magazines... I get way better knowledge from guys here than in my 35 years reading magazines combined. love this place

got it thanks guys on the clarification.. my son is 11y/o. I want him to enjoy the outdoors just like I have growing up ... after this year will be getting the hunter ed done... you guys are great. I did however finally get ahold of dnr at sugar ridge and it only covers one deer of either sex. and by my understanding you have to purchase a bonus tag to take another deer (antlerless only). unless someone has had other experiences with this.

sorry about another apprentice question. I've tried calling an emailing dnr here about this with no answer. my question is... does the apprentice license cover all licenses or do you have to buy i.e. separate deer tags or does it cover all that. I'm trying to get my son into hunting to see if it's something he will pursue like I have

And that folks is why i still hunt with a muzzy. Makes me take more care in aiming and put a good shot on a deer. Yet i still get haggled by my buddies to switch to a 44 or shotgun. I dont give in

I was wondering if you can set a squirrel feeder out and hunt exclusively squirrels over it. It would be removed 2 weeks or more before deer season comes into effect. Thanks for answering my question
