With the right circumstances you could kill 4 bucks just in big oaks, 2 state parks, state, reduction, and I got drawn for muscatatuck muzzle loader which would have been 9 total bucks.

With Veterans Day being on Saturday next year, will gun season start on the 11th or the 18th?

I will be out some. Still have muskatetuck muzzle loader hunt on the 15th. Plus a couple of doe tags with people that need the meat.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, are the pellets the same diameter as the bore? You don’t drop them in and mash them down, right? Right you just drop them in( dark side down with pyrodex) and then load and seat your projectile.

I just read the information on the dnr website and it doesn’t say anything about tree stands being required.

Didn’t see anything. Have to work nights so I am done with modern firearms. Good luck to all that are still at it.

I was in my stand at about 0635 this morning for my first thanksgiving hunt. At 0715 I hear a grunt about 40 yards in front of me, in the thick stuff and behind one of the trees that still has leaves. I see a doe move out from behind the tree, but she goes deeper into the thicket. I am watching her through the scope and I hear another grunt and a stick break. I sit and watch both ends of the thicket for the next 3 hours. Thinking that he had snuck out the back door to the field and disappeared. I could only stay until 1030 because of turkey day at the mother-in-law’s. I was just about to unload the gun and climb down when I hear a grunt and see the doe get up and start moving towards my left. Then I see him following her. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to shoot him. He stepped into the path that I walk in on and I decided to shoot. I guess that I yanked the trigger instead of squeezing. He jumped and then just walked into the woods. He made a left and that is when I got back on him and squeezed the trigger and he dropped. The pictures are on the check in thread. Woody posted them for me. Thanks again woody.

Happened to me this morning. Fortunately for me he turned and came around to my left and I dropped him with the second shot.

Once he is running straight away the shot doesn’t look too tough. Lol

In case anybody didn't know, going back to work after 10 days off REALLY SUCKS! I bet, I will let you know how bad it sucks after 18 days off. That will be November 29th.
